ON THE EQUIVALENCE AMONG SOME CHIRAL-BOSON THEORIES
We make a comparative study of chiral-boson theories in the Florenani-Jackiw
(FJ) and linear constraint formulations. A special attention is given to the
case with an improved way of implementing the linear constraint. We show that
it has the same spectrum of the FJ formulation.Comment: 11 pages, Late
Gauged Lifshitz scalar field theories in two dimensions
We present two-dimensional gauged Lifshitz scalar field theories by
considering the duality relation between the source current and the Noether
current. Requiring the duality partially, we obtain a gauged model which
recovers the bosonized Schwinger model for the IR limit. For the exact duality,
however, the source current is not conserved, which means that the resulting
theory is anomalous, so that the number of degrees of freedom is increased. The
second model is consistently formulated by adding the Wess-Zumino type action
to maintain the gauge invariance.Comment: 11 page
On the gauge and BRST invariance of the chiral QED with Faddeevian anomaly
Chiral Schwinger model with the Faddeevian anomaly is considered. It is found
that imposing a chiral constraint this model can be expressed in terms of
chiral boson. The model when expressed in terms of chiral boson remains
anomalous and the Gauss law of which gives anomalous Poisson brackets between
itself. In spite of that a systematic BRST quantization is possible. The
Wess-Zumino term corresponding to this theory appears automatically during the
process of quantization. A gauge invariant reformulation of this model is also
constructed. Unlike the former one gauge invariance is done here without any
extension of phase space. This gauge invariant version maps onto the vector
Schwinger model.The gauge invariant version of the chiral Schwinger model for
has a massive field with identical mass however gauge invariant version

Crossover and self-averaging in the two-dimensional site-diluted Ising model
Using the newly proposed probability-changing cluster (PCC) Monte Carlo
algorithm, we simulate the two-dimensional (2D) site-diluted Ising model. Since
we can tune the critical point of each random sample automatically with the PCC
algorithm, we succeed in studying the sample-dependent and the sample
average of physical quantities at each systematically. Using the
finite-size scaling (FSS) analysis for , we discuss the importance of
corrections to FSS both in the strong-dilution and weak-dilution regions. The
critical phenomena of the 2D site-diluted Ising model are shown to be
controlled by the pure fixed point. The crossover from the percolation fixed
point to the pure Ising fixed point with the system size is explicitly
demonstrated by the study of the Binder parameter. We also study the
distribution of critical temperature . Its variance shows the power-law
dependence, , and the estimate of the exponent is consistent
with the prediction of Aharony and Harris [Phys. Rev. Lett. {\bf 77}, 3700
(1996)]. Calculating the relative variance of critical magnetization at the
sample-dependent , we show that the 2D site-diluted Ising model

On spin-1 massive particles coupled to a Chern-Simons field
We study spin one particles interacting through a Chern-Simons field. In the
Born approximation, we calculate the two body scattering amplitude considering
three possible ways to introduce the interaction: (a) a Proca like model
minimally coupled to a Chern-Simons field, (b) the model obtained from (a) by
replacing the Proca's mass by a Chern-Simons term and (c) a complex
Maxwell-Chern-Simons model minimally coupled to a Chern-Simons field. In the
low energy regime the results show similarities with the Aharonov-Bohm
scattering for spin 1/2 particles. We discuss the one loop renormalization
program for the Proca's model. In spite of the bad ultraviolet behavior of the
matter field propagator, we show that, up to one loop the model is power
counting renormalizable thanks to the Ward identities satisfied by the

Irradiation of benzene molecules by ion-induced and light-induced intense fields
Benzene, with its sea of delocalized -electrons in the valence orbitals,
is identified as an example of a class of molecules that enable establishment
of the correspondence between intense ion-induced and laser-light-induced
fields in experiments that probe ionization dynamics in temporal regimes
spanning the attosecond and picosecond ranges.Comment: 4 ps figure
Precise measurement of hadronic tau-decays with an eta meson
We have studied hadronic tau decay modes involving an eta meson using 490
fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy
e+e- collider. The following branching fractions have been measured: B(tau- ->
K- eta nu)=(1.58 +- 0.05 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}, B(tau- -> K- pi0 eta nu)=(4.6 +-
1.1 +- 0.4)x 10^{-5}, B(tau- -> pi- pi0 eta nu)=(1.35 +- 0.03 +- 0.07)x
10^{-3}, B(tau- -> pi- KS eta nu)=(4.4 +- 0.7 +- 0.2)x 10^{-5}, and B(tau- ->
K^{*-} eta nu)=(1.34 +- 0.12 +- 0.09)x 10^{-4}. These results are substantially
more precise than previous measurements. The new measurements are compared with
theoretical calculations based on the CVC hypothesis or the chiral perturbation
theory. We also set upper limits on branching fractions for tau decays into K-
KS eta nu, pi- KS pi0 eta nu, K- eta eta nu, pi- eta eta nu and non-resonant K-
pi^0 eta nu final states.Comment: 24 pages, 7 figure
Search for B+ -> D*+ pi0 decay
We report on a search for the doubly Cabibbo suppressed decay B+ -> D*+ pi0,
based on a data sample of 657 million BBbar pairs collected at the Upsilon(4S)
resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric energy e+ e- collider.
We find no significant signal and set an upper limit of Br(B+ -> D*+ pi0) < 3.6
x 10^-6 at the 90% confidence level. This limit can be used to constrain the
ratio between suppressed and favored B -> D* pi decay amplitudes, r < 0.051, at

Measurement of CP asymmetry in Cabibbo suppressed D0 decays
We measure the CP-violating asymmetries in decays to the D0 -> K+K- and D0 ->
pi+pi- CP eigenstates using 540 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle
detector at or near the Upsilon(4S) resonance. Cabibbo-favored D0 -> K-pi+
decays are used to correct for systematic detector effects. The results,
A_{CP}^{KK} = (-0.43 +- 0.30 +- 0.11)% and A_{CP}^{pipi} = (+0.43 +- 0.52 +-
0.12)%, are consistent with no CP violation.Comment: Submitted to Phys. Lett.

The cross sections for and e^+ e^- \to \phi
\fzero are measured from threshold to using
initial state radiation. The analysis is based on a data sample of 673
fb collected on and below the resonance with the Belle
detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. First measurements
are reported for the resonance parameters of the in the
mode: MeV/ and MeV/. A structure at ,
corresponding to the so called Y(2175), is observed; its mass and width are
