An Image Recognition Method for Rusty and Damaged Car Parts After Road Traffic Accident

Damaged vehicles can be manufactured by different car manufacturers and they can be of different models that are available in the car market for the last ten years. These damaged vehicles are likely to end up in a scrap yard instead of retiring to the original manufacturer. Therefore, it is very unlikely that we can collect all the detail design of every car models that exist within the last ten years. This paper presents a new image recognition method. It tries to recognise undamaged car parts of a car after a road traffic accident. This image recognition method defines concepts by using a set of images as examples. It will try to recognise a new image by collecting evidence from the images in the example set. A simple example was used to illustrate this method. Instead of confronting the whole problem, we would like to confine our research by defining some constraints and limitations. In our project, 1. Introduction In recent years, deterioration of the environment due to abandon..

An Evidential Reasoning Approach to Outdoor Colour Scene Analysis

A new methodology for learning fuzzy concepts from a set of examples is proposed. Fuzzy concepts can be defined by a set of examples of processed images. If a feature of an example of a concept appears to exist in an unknown image, then there is some evidence for that image to be classified as that concept. This proposed categorisation and classification process is independent of the context of its input data. Colour information can be adapted as additional sets of features for each image. By interpreting the colour scene using different colour models, a consistent classification can then be achieved by aggregating evidence from these different colour models and by resolving the conflicts of evidence between these models.
