A Comprehensive Analysis on the Pion-Photon Transition Form Factor Beyond the Leading Fock State
We perform a comprehensive analysis of the pion-photon transition form factor
involving the transverse momentum corrections with the
present CLEO experimental data, in which the contributions beyond the leading
Fock state have been taken into consideration. As is well-known, the leading
Fock-state contribution dominates of at large momentum
transfer () region. One should include the contributions beyond the
leading Fock state in small region. In this paper, we construct a
phenomenological expression to estimate the contributions beyond the leading
Fock state based on its asymptotic behavior at . Our present
theoretical results agree well with the experimental data in the whole
region. Then, we extract some useful information of the pionic leading twist-2
distribution amplitude (DA) by comparing our results of
with the CLEO data. By taking best fit, we have the DA moments,
,
and all of higher moments, which are closed to the asymptotic-like behavior of
the pion wavefunction.Comment: 25 pages, 7 figures. Typo error correcte
Information on the Pion Distribution Amplitude from the Pion-Photon Transition Form Factor with the Belle and BaBar Data
The pion-photon transition form factor (TFF) provides strong constraints on
the pion distribution amplitude (DA). We perform an analysis of all existing
data (CELLO, CLEO, BaBar, Belle) on the pion-photon TFF by means of light-cone
pQCD approach in which we include the next-to-leading order correction to the
valence-quark contribution and estimate the non-valence-quark contribution by a
phenomenological model based on the TFF's limiting behavior at both
and . At present, the pion DA is not definitely determined, it is
helpful to have a pion DA model that can mimic all the suggested behaviors,
especially to agree with the constraints from the pion-photon TFF in whole
measured region within a consistent way. For the purpose, we adopt the
conventional model for pion wavefunction/DA that has been constructed in our
previous paper \cite{hw1}, whose broadness is controlled by a parameter . We
fix the DA parameters by using the CELLO, CLEO, BABAR and Belle data within the
smaller region ( GeV), where all the data are consistent
with each other. And then the pion-photon TFF is extrapolated into larger
region. We observe that the BABAR favors which has the behavior close
to the Chernyak-Zhitnitsky DA, whereas the recent Belle favors which
is close to the asymptotic DA. We need more accurate data at large region
to determine the precise value of , and the definite behavior of pion DA can
be concluded finally by the consistent data in the coming future.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures. Slightly changed and references update
Consistent Analysis of the Transition Form Factor in the Whole Physical Region
In the paper, we show that the transition form factor can be
calculated by using the different approach in the different regions and
they are consistent with each other in the whole physical region. For the
transition form factor in the large recoil regions, one can apply the
PQCD approach, where the transverse momentum dependence for both the hard
scattering part and the non-perturbative wavefunction, the Sudakov effects and
the threshold effects are included to regulate the endpoint singularity and to
derive a more reliable PQCD result. Pionic twist-3 contributions are carefully
studied with a better endpoint behavior wavefunction for and we find
that its contribution is less than the leading twist contribution. Both the two
wavefunctions and of the B meson can give sizable
contributions to the transition form factor and should be kept for a
better understanding of the B decays. The present obtained PQCD results can
match with both the QCD light-cone sum rule results and the extrapolated
lattice QCD results in the large recoil regions.Comment: 18pages, 6 figure
A Model for the Twist-3 Wave Function of the Pion and Its Contribution to the Pion Form Factor
A model for the twist-3 wave function of the
pion has been constructed based on the moment calculation by applying the QCD
sum rules, whose distribution amplitude has a better end-point behavior than
that of the asymptotic one. With this model wave function, the twist-3
contributions including both the usual helicity components
() and the higher helicity components
() to the pion form factor have been studied within
the modified pQCD approach. Our results show that the twist-3 contribution
drops fast and it becomes less than the twist-2 contribution at . The higher helicity components in the twist-3 wave function will give
an extra suppression to the pion form factor. The model dependence of the
twist-3 contribution to the pion form factor has been studied by comparing
three different models. When all the power contributions, which include higher
order in , higher helicities, higher twists in DA and etc., have been
taken into account, it is expected that the hard contributions will fit the
present experimental data well at the energy region where pQCD is applicable.Comment: 22pages,4 figures. Phys.Rev. D70, 093013(2004) (in press
Neuroglobin-overexpression reduces traumatic brain lesion size in mice
Background: Accumulating evidence has demonstrated that over-expression of Neuroglobin (Ngb) is neuroprotective against hypoxic/ischemic brain injuries. In this study we tested the neuroprotective effects of Ngb over-expression against traumatic brain injury (TBI) in mice. Results: Both Ngb over-expression transgenic (Ngb-Tg) and wild-type (WT) control mice were subjected to TBI induced by a controlled cortical impact (CCI) device. TBI significantly increased Ngb expression in the brains of both WT and Ngb-Tg mice, but Ngb-Tg mice had significantly higher Ngb protein levels at the pre-injury baseline and post-TBI. Production of oxidative tissue damage biomarker 3NT in the brain was significantly reduced in Ngb-Tg mice compared to WT controls at 6 hours after TBI. The traumatic brain lesion volume was significantly reduced in Ngb Tg mice compared to WT mice at 3 weeks after TBI; however, there were no significant differences in the recovery of sensorimotor and spatial memory functional deficits between Ngb-Tg and WT control mice for up to 3 weeks after TBI. Conclusion: Ngb over-expression reduced traumatic lesion volume, which might partially be achieved by decreasing oxidative stress
Boson Decays to Meson and Its Uncertainties
The programming new collider with high luminosity shall provide
another useful platform to study the properties of the doubly heavy meson
in addition to the hadronic colliders as LHC and TEVATRON. Under the `New Trace
Amplitude Approach', we calculate the production of the spin-singlet and
the spin-triplet mesons through the boson decays, where
uncertainties for the production are also discussed. Our results show
KeV and
KeV, where the errors are caused by
varying and within their reasonable regions.Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures, 2 tables. To be published in Eur.Phys.J.
Hadronic Production of the Doubly Charmed Baryon with Intrinsic Charm
The effects of the intrinsic charm on the hadronic production of
are studied. By taking reasonable intrinsic charm component into account, the
change of the theoretical prediction on the production of for LHC
and Tevatron is small, but in contrast it may enhance significantly for SELEX.
The reason is that the collision energy at LHC and Tevatron is so large that
the gluon-gluon fusion sub-process, which is irrelevant to intrinsic charm,
becomes dominant. But the situation for SELEX is quite different. Our numerical
results for SELEX show that by considering all the contributions from various
sub-processes, the predicted cross-section may be enhanced by a factor so big
as due to a modulating intrinsic charm being taken into account.
Therefore, the hadronic production of at SELEX may be sensitive
enough in observing the intrinsic charm inside the incident hadrons.Comment: 18 pages, 8 figures. More discussions are adde
Semileptonic decays in the light-cone QCD sum rules
Semileptonic () decays are investigated systematically in the
light-cone QCD sum rules. Special emphasis is put on the LCSR calculation on
weak form factors with an adequate chiral current correlator, which turns out
to be particularly effective to control the pollution by higher twist
components of spectator mesons. The result for each channel depends on the
distribution amplitude of the the producing meson. The leading twist
distribution amplitudes of the related heavy mesons and charmonium are worked
out by a model approach in the reasonable way. A practical scenario is
suggested to understand the behavior of weak form factors in the whole
kinematically accessible ranges. The decay widths and branching ratios are
estimated for several () decay modes of current interest.Comment: 8 pages, talk given by the first arthur at 4th International

Production of the -Wave Excited -States through the Boson Decays
In Ref.[7],we have dealt with the production of the two color-singlet
-wave -quarkonium states and
through the boson decays. As an
important sequential work, we make a further discussion on the production of
the more complicated -wave excited -quarkonium states, i.e.
and (with
). More over, we also calculate the channel with the two color-octet
quarkonium states and , whose contributions to the decay width maybe at the same order of
magnitude as that of the color-singlet -wave states according to the naive
nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics scaling rules. The -wave states shall
provide sizable contributions to the production, whose decay width is
about 20% of the total decay width . After summing up all
the mentioned -quarkonium states' contributions, we obtain
KeV, where the errors are caused
by the main uncertainty sources.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figures and 2 tables. basic formulae in the appendix are

Field-Induced Transition in the S=1 Antiferromagnetic Chain with Single-Ion Anisotropy in a Transverse Magnetic Field
The field-induced transition in one-dimensional S=1 Heisenberg
antiferromagnet with single-ion anisotropy in the presence of a transverse
magnetic field is obtained on the basis of the Schwinger boson mean-field
theory. The behaviors of the specific heat and susceptibility as functions of
temperature as well as the applied transverse field are explored, which are
found to be different from the results obtained under a longitudinal field. The
anomalies of the specific heat at low temperatures, which might be an
indicative of a field-induced transition from a Luttinger liquid phase to an
ordered phase, are explicitly uncovered under the transverse field. A schematic
phase diagram is proposed. The theoretical results are compared with
experimental observations.Comment: Revtex, 7 figure
