    A Forecasting Model of Predicting Cryptocurrency Price

    Nowadays the quest for electronic payments has created a huge ambit among academicians and businesspeople. At the same time, transactions are repressed because of the intervention of third parties. To overcome this situation, the great as well as the puzzling imposter arose which is now the area of interest called cryptocurrency. Bitcoins, Ethereum, and ripple are some embodiments of cryptocurrency. Investors do not always have a bed of roses with cryptocurrency as the frequent oscillation of prices is hard to forecast. The paper here deals with the forecasting of cryptocurrency prices by using data mining algorithms such as Bagging, K-NN, Linear Regression, and Support Vector Machine. The outcome specifies the accuracy value gained from the cryptocurrency forecasting model from which we can predict the price of the cryptocurrency

    Structure and apparent topography of TiO2 (110) surfaces

    We present self-consistent ab-initio total-energy and electronic-structure calculations on stoichiometric and non-stoichiometric TiO2 (110) surfaces. Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) topographs are simulated by calculating the local electronic density of states over an energy window appropriate for the experimental positive-bias conditions. We find that under these conditions the STM tends to image the undercoordinated Ti atoms, in spite of the physical protrusion of the O atoms, giving an apparent reversal of topographic contrast on the stoichiometric 1x1 or missing-row 2x1 surface. We also show that both the interpretation of STM images and the direct comparison of surface energies favor an added-row structure over the missing-row structure for the oxygen-deficient 2x1 surface.Comment: 6 pages, two-column style with 5 postscript figures embedded.     Desulfovibrio idahonensis sp. nov., sulfatereducing bacteria isolated from a metal(loid)-contaminated freshwater sediment

    Two novel sulfate-reducing bacteria, strains CY1 and CY2, were isolated from heavy-metal-contaminated sediments of Lake Coeur d\u27Alene, Idaho, USA. Strains CY1 and CY2 were found to contain c-type cytochromes and to reduce sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, elemental sulfur, DMSO, anthraquinone disulfonate and fumarate using lactate as an electron donor. In a comparison of 16S rRNA gene sequences, CY1 and CY2 were found to be 100% identical, but only 97 and 92.4% similar, respectively, to the type strains of Desulfovibrio mexicanus and Desulfovibrio aminophilus. Unlike these species, however, CY1 was neither able to disproportionate thiosulfate nor able to use yeast extract or amino acids as electron donors. These data, considered in conjunction with differences among strain CY1 and the two related type strains in chemotaxonomy, riboprint patterns, temperature and pH optima, support recognition of a distinct and novel species within the genus Desulfovibrio, Desulfovibrio idahonensis sp. nov., with the type strain CY1 (=DSM 15450 =JCM 14124 ). © 2009 IUMS.     Desulfosporosinus lacus sp. nov., a sulfate-reducing bacterium isolated from pristine freshwater lake sediments

    A novel sulfate-reducing bacterium was isolated from pristine sediments of Lake Stechlin, Germany. This strain, STP12 , was found to contain predominantly c-type cytochromes and to reduce sulfate, sulfite and thiosulfate using lactate as an electron donor. Although STP12 could not utilize elemental sulfur as an electron acceptor, it could support growth by dissimilatory Fe(III) reduction. In a comparison of 16S rRNA gene sequences, STP12 was 96.7 % similar to Desulfosporosinus auripigmenti DSM 13351 , 96.5 % similar to Desulfosporosinus meridiei DSM 13257 and 96.4 % similar to Desulfosporosinus orientis DSM 765 . DNA-DNA hybridization experiments revealed that strain STP12 shows only 32 % reassociation with the type strain of the type species of the genus, D. orientis DSM 765 . These data, considered in conjunction with strain-specific differences in heavy metal tolerance, cell-wall chemotaxonomy and riboprint patterns, support recognition of strain STP12 (=DSM 15449 =JCM 12239 ) as the type strain of a distinct and novel species within the genus Desulfosporosinus, Desulfosporosinus lacus sp. nov. © 2006 IUMS.     On the optical properties of Ag^{+15} ion-beam irradiated TiO_{2} and SnO_{2} thin films

    The effects of 200-MeV Ag^{+15} ion irradiation on the optical properties of TiO_{2} and SnO_{2} thin films prepared by using the RF magnetron sputtering technique were investigated. These films were characterized by using UV-vis spectroscopy, and with increasing irradiation fluence, the transmittance for the TiO_{2} films was observed to increase systematically while that for SnO_{2} was observed to decrease. Absorption spectra of the irradiated samples showed minor changes in the indirect bandgap from 3.44 to 3.59 eV with increasing irradiation fluence for TiO_{2} while significant changes in the direct bandgap from 3.92 to 3.6 eV were observed for SnO_{2}. The observed modifications in the optical properties of both the TiO_{2} and the SnO_{2} systems with irradiation can be attributed to controlled structural disorder/defects in the system.Comment: 6 pages, ICAMD-201

    Testing an Intentional Naming Scheme Using Genetic Algorithms

    Abstract. Various attempts have been made to use genetic algorithms (GAs) for software testing, a problem that consumes a large amount of time and eort in software development. We demonstrate the use of GAs in automating testing of complex data structures and methods for manipulating them, which to our knowledge has not been successfully displayed before on non-trivial software structures. We evaluate the ef-fectiveness of our GA-based test suite generation technique by applying it to test the design and implementation of the Intentional Naming Sys-tem (INS), a new scheme for resource discovery and service location in a dynamic networked environment. Our analysis using GAs reveals serious problems with both the design of INS and its inventors ' implementation.

    Size and shape evolution of embedded single-crystal αα-Fe nanowires

    The size and shape evolution of embedded ferromagnetic αα-Fe nanowires is discussed. The αα-Fe nanowires are formed by pulsed-laser deposition of La0.5Sr0.5FeO3−xLa0.5Sr0.5FeO3−x on single-crystal SrTiO3SrTiO3 (001) substrate in reducing atmosphere. The average diameter of the nanowires increases from d ≈ 4d≈4 to 50 nm as the growth temperature increases from T = 560T=560 to 840 °C. Their in-plane shape evolves from circular to octahedral and square shape with [110] facets dominating as the growth temperature increases. A fitting to a theoretical calculation shows that the circular shape is stable when the diameter of the nanowires is smaller than 8 nm.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/87835/2/203110_1.pd
