Assignment of the genera Cellulomonas, Oerskovia, Promicromonospora and Jonesia to Cellulomonadaceae fam. nov.
The genera Cellulomonas, Oerskovia, Promicromonospora and Jonesia are assigned to a new family Cellulomonadaceae. Phylogenetically the family constitutes an individual line of descent within the order Actinomycetales. Neighboring groups are defined by Arthrobacter, Renibacterium, Micrococcus, Stomatococcus, Dermatophilus, Brevibacterium and Microbacterium and its related genera. Although the number of family-specific characters is small, a combination of chemotaxonomic and morphological properties distinguishes members of Cellulomonadaceae from related taxa
