Protein Ingredients Control in Gluten Free Products Using SDS-PAGE, Developed Competitive Enzyme Immunoassays and Commercial ELISA Kits.
Some protein ingredients declared in the label of gluten free products are allergenic proteins (milk, soy and egg). The proper identification of these proteins in food products is important for consumers who have food allergies. The aim of this study was to control the presence of protein ingredients declared in the label of gluten free products. Samples were analyzed with sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), using an extractive solution of total proteins (Tris-ClH buffer 0.0625 M with 3% sodium dodecylsulfate and 2% 2-mercaptoethanol; pH: 6.8) and a selective solvent for the extraction of caseins (isopropanol 55° + 2-mercaptoethanol / ISO + ME). Developed Competitive enzyme immunoassays were used for the detection / quantification of milk, soy and egg proteins in products elaborated with rice flour. Specific polyclonal rabbit antiserums against milk, soy and egg proteins were used as primary antibodies in these competitive enzyme immunoassays. Commercial ELISA kits from Neogen, R-Biopharm and Romer were used to verify the results. In some samples undeclared allergens were detected. Correct allergens labeling is very important for the safety of allergic consumers. In conclusion, it is possible to identify all the proteins ingredients in these gluten-free foods studied, using a combination of electrophoretic methods and immunochemical methods.Fil: Cellerino, Karina. A weak group inverse for rectangular matrices
[EN] In this paper, we extend the notion of weak group inverse to rectangular matrices (called WweightedWGinverse) by using the weighted core EP inverse recently investigated. This new generalized inverse also generalizes the well-known weighted group inverse given by Cline and Greville. In addition, we give several representations of the W-weighted WG inverse, and derive some characterizations and properties.First author was partially supported by UNRC (Grant PPI 18/C472) and CONICET (Grant PIP 112-201501-00433CO). Community detection for access-control decisions: Analysing the role of homophily and information diffusion in Online Social Networks
Access-Control Lists (ACLs) (a.k.a. “friend lists”) are one of the most important privacy features of Online Social Networks (OSNs) as they allow users to restrict the audience of their publications. Nevertheless, creating and maintaining custom ACLs can introduce a high cognitive burden on average OSNs users since it normally requires assessing the trustworthiness of a large number of contacts. In principle, community detection algorithms can be leveraged to support the generation of ACLs by mapping a set of examples (i.e. contacts labelled as “untrusted”) to the emerging communities inside the user’s ego-network. However, unlike users’ access-control preferences, traditional community-detection algorithms do not take the homophily characteristics of such communities into account (i.e. attributes shared among members). Consequently, this strategy may lead to inaccurate ACL configurations and privacy breaches under certain homophily scenarios. This work investigates the use of community-detection algorithms for the automatic generation of ACLs in OSNs. Particularly, it analyses the performance of the aforementioned approach under different homophily conditions through a simulation model. Furthermore, since private information may reach the scope of untrusted recipients through the re-sharing affordances of OSNs, information diffusion processes are also modelled and taken explicitly into account. Altogether, the removal of gatekeeper nodes is further explored as a strategy to counteract unwanted data dissemination

Spectral and localization properties of the Dirichlet wave guide with two concentric Neumann discs
Bound states of the Hamiltonian describing a quantum particle living on three
dimensional straight strip of width are investigated. We impose the Neumann
boundary condition on the two concentric windows of the radii and
located on the opposite walls and the Dirichlet boundary condition on the
remaining part of the boundary of the strip. We prove that such a system
exhibits discrete eigenvalues below the essential spectrum for any .
When and tend to the infinity, the asymptotic of the eigenvalue is
derived. A comparative analysis with the one-window case reveals that due to
the additional possibility of the regulating energy spectrum the anticrossing
structure builds up as a function of the inner radius with its sharpness
increasing for the larger outer radius. Mathematical and physical
interpretation of the obtained results is presented; namely, it is derived that
the anticrossings are accompanied by the drastic changes of the wave function
localization. Parallels are drawn to the other structures exhibiting similar
phenomena; in particular, it is proved that, contrary to the two-dimensional
geometry, at the critical Neumann radii true bound states exist.Comment: 25 pages, 7 figure
Mating system analysis and genetic diversity of Parkia multijuga Benth. one native tree Species of the Amazon.
The Amazonian native tree species Parkia multijuga has potential silvicultural characteristics that can be utilized to productive plantations. Understanding its mating system is necessary to delineate the methods for the breeding of the species, the collection of seeds for conservation, and the use of seedlings for production plantations. The aim of this study is to evaluate the mating system and population genetic diversity of P. multijuga, using molecular markers
Genetic Analysis of a Novel Human Adenovirus with a Serologically Unique Hexon and a Recombinant Fiber Gene
In February of 1996 a human adenovirus (formerly known as Ad-Cor-96-487) was isolated from the stool of an AIDS patient who presented with severe chronic diarrhea. To characterize this apparently novel pathogen of potential public health significance, the complete genome of this adenovirus was sequenced to elucidate its origin. Bioinformatic and phylogenetic analyses of this genome demonstrate that this virus, heretofore referred to as HAdV-D58, contains a novel hexon gene as well as a recombinant fiber gene. In addition, serological analysis demonstrated that HAdV-D58 has a different neutralization profile than all previously characterized HAdVs. Bootscan analysis of the HAdV-D58 fiber gene strongly suggests one recombination event
