Analysis of dynamic behavior of the back-toback High Voltage Direct Current link model as part of electrical power system
One of the main directions of the development of electric power systems is the introduction of technologies based on high-power semiconductor switches, such as FACTS devices and HVDC technologies. These systems effectively solve a number of urgent tasks of EPS, connected with asynchronous connection of EPS, transmission of electricity, improve local and systemic flexibility and reliability of EPS, increasing the capacity of network elements that contains a "weak" connection. However, the implementation and operation of mentioned technologies in the EPS determines the need for a wide range of analysis and research that can only be done with the help of mathematical modeling
Formation and investigation of micro-arc Sr-containing calciumphosphate biocoatings on Mg-0.8 Ca alloy
The investigation of the XRD analysis, thickness, masses and roughness of Sr-substituted calcium phosphate coatings on the Mg-0.8Ca substrate deposited by the micro arc oxidation method under different process voltages was performed. The increase of the process voltage leads to the growth of the thickness, masses and roughness of the coatings. Results of XRD analysis showed that the Sr-CaP coatings formed under the process voltages of 350-450 V are contained α-Ca[3](PO[4])[2], Mg[3](PO[4])[2] and Mg phases

Цель работы – изучение процесса формирования алмазоподобных кремний-углеродных покрытий и исследование их свойств
В процессе работы проводилась оптимизация процесса осаждения и экспериментальные исследования полученных пленок.
В результате исследования были получены твердые покрытия с низкой степенью износа и низким коэффициентом трения.

The object of the study is silicon-doped diamond-like carbon films prepared from the plasma of the dependent arc discharge with hot cathode.
The work objective was the optimization of the process of deposition of silicon-doped diamond-like carbon films, synthesis of coatings and their research.
In the process of the work it was carried out, that the optimization of the deposition process and experimental investigations of the received films.
The study was received the solid films with a high wear resistance and a low friction coefficient.

TAN Classifiers Based on Decomposable Distributions
The original publication is available at www.springerlink.comIn this paper we present several Bayesian algorithms for learning Tree Augmented Naive Bayes (TAN) models. We extend the results in Meila & Jaakkola (2000a) to TANs by proving that accepting a prior decomposable distribution over TAN's, we can compute the exact Bayesian model averaging over TAN structures and parameters in polynomial time. Furthermore, we prove that the k-maximum a posteriori (MAP) TAN structures can also be computed in polynomial time. We use these results to correct minor errors in Meila & Jaakkola (2000a) and to construct several TAN based classifiers provide consistently better predictions over Irvine datasets and artificially generated data than TAN based classifiers proposed in the literature.Peer reviewe

The genetic architecture of the human cerebral cortex
The cerebral cortex underlies our complex cognitive capabilities, yet little is known about the specific genetic loci that influence human cortical structure. To identify genetic variants that affect cortical structure, we conducted a genome-wide association meta-analysis of brain magnetic resonance imaging data from 51,665 individuals. We analyzed the surface area and average thickness of the whole cortex and 34 regions with known functional specializations. We identified 199 significant loci and found significant enrichment for loci influencing total surface area within regulatory elements that are active during prenatal cortical development, supporting the radial unit hypothesis. Loci that affect regional surface area cluster near genes in Wnt signaling pathways, which influence progenitor expansion and areal identity. Variation in cortical structure is genetically correlated with cognitive function, Parkinson's disease, insomnia, depression, neuroticism, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
