This is being proven by Mrs. Alma Lassman Martin of Europa Esthonia, who is now on the Iowa State campus as a student in home management. In her own country Mrs. Martin has been a teacher in an agricultural school and her husband is an assistant in the University of Esthonia. Her three children, of two, four and six years, respectively, are at present under the care of their grandmother

We may also. apply this to people geographically, which may explain the reason for the interest shown in the customs and life of people in other lands. In the Lincoln Apartments located on Lincoln 路way resides the Capistrano family consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Severo Capistrano with their two young sons Julio and Edmondo. These people came from Manila of the Philippine Islands, by way of Vancouver and through Canada, arriving at the opening of the college year. Mr. Capistrano is a graduate student in Agricultural Economics, while Jul;o and Edmondo are enrolled in the kindergarten at Welch school. Mrs. Capistrano would like also to attend college classes but so far her home路 making does not permit her to do so

At no other season of the year is there this true feeling of friendship and world nationalism. The old heart softens and old eyes become moist; the young heart quickens, and small feet dance in happiness. ln all nations is the looking for ward to St. Nicholas and the joyous festival season. Each home has its own little gathering by the hearth, and perhaps one of the most lively and pleasing are those celebrations in a Siberian, or rather Vladivostok home
