Five-dimensional SYM from undeformed ABJM
We expand undeformed ABJM theory around the vacuum solution that was found in
arxiv:0909.3101. This solution can be interpreted as a circle-bundle over a
two-dimensional plane with a singularity at the origin. By imposing periodic
boundary conditions locally far away from the singularity, we obtain a local
fuzzy two-torus over which we have a circle fibration. By performing
fluctuation analysis we obtain five-dimensional SYM with the precise value on
the coupling constant that we would obtain by compactifying multiple M5 branes
on the vacuum three-manifold. In the resulting SYM theory we also find a
coupling to a background two-form.Comment: 23 page
Constraining Maximally Supersymmetric Membrane Actions
We study the recent construction of maximally supersymmetric field theory
Lagrangians in three spacetime dimensions that are based on algebras with a
triple product. Assuming that the algebra has a positive definite metric
compatible with the triple product, we prove that the only non-trivial examples
are either the well known case based on a four dimensional algebra or direct
sums thereof.Comment: 11 pages, very minor changes. Reference added. Version to be

Branes from a non-Abelian (2,0) tensor multiplet with 3-algebra
In this paper, we study the equations of motion for non-Abelian N=(2,0)
tensor multiplets in six dimensions, which were recently proposed by Lambert
and Papageorgakis. Some equations are regarded as constraint equations. We
employ a loop extension of the Lorentzian three-algebra (3-algebra) and examine
the equations of motion around various solutions of the constraint equations.
The resultant equations take forms that allow Lagrangian descriptions. We find
various (5+d)-dimensional Lagrangians and investigate the relation between them
from the viewpoint of M-theory duality.Comment: 44+1 pages, reference added, typos corrected, and several discussions

some typos and references corrected, final version to appear in J. Phys.
Air Filtration in HVAC Systems
The Guidebook presents the theory of air filtration with some basic principles of the physics of pollutants and their effects on indoor quality. The main focus is on practical design, installation and operation of filters in air handling systems. It is intended for the use of designers, manufacturers, installers, and building owners. With its theory, practical solutions and illustrations it is also an excellent textbook for the vocational training of various experts in building services engineering
Unifying N=5 and N=6
We write the Lagrangian of the general N=5 three-dimensional superconformal
Chern-Simons theory, based on a basic Lie superalgebra, in terms of our
recently introduced N=5 three-algebras. These include N=6 and N=8
three-algebras as special cases. When we impose an antisymmetry condition on
the triple product, the supersymmetry automatically enhances, and the N=5
Lagrangian reduces to that of the well known N=6 theory, including the ABJM and
ABJ models.Comment: 19 pages. v2: Published version. Minor typos corrected, references

Classification of N=6 superconformal theories of ABJM type
Studying the supersymmetry enhancement mechanism of Aharony, Bergman,
Jafferis and Maldacena, we find a simple condition on the gauge group
generators for the matter fields. We analyze all possible compact Lie groups
and their representations. The only allowed gauge groups leading to the
manifest N=6 supersymmetry are, up to discrete quotients, SU(n) x U(1), Sp(n) x
U(1), SU(n) x SU(n), and SU(n) x SU(m) x U(1) with possibly additional U(1)'s.
Matter representations are restricted to be the (bi)fundamentals. As a
byproduct we obtain another proof of the complete classification of the three
algebras considered by Bagger and Lambert.Comment: 18 page
