    Mass-symmetry breaking in three-body ions

The ground-state energy of three-body ions (M+,M+,m)(M^+,M^+,m^-) evolves when the like-charge constituents are given different masses. The comparison of (m1+,m2+,m)(m_1^+,m_2^+,m^-) with the average of (m1+,m1+,m)(m_1^+,m_1^+,m^-) and (m2+,m2+,m)(m_2^+,m_2^+,m^-) reveals a competition between the symmetric term and the antisymmetric one. The former dominates in the Born--Oppenheimer regime such as the (p,t,e) case, while the latter wins for H^--like systems with two negative light particles surrounding a heavy nucleus. A comparison is also made with the case of baryons in simple quark models with flavour independence.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure

Nanoscale Investigation by Small Angle Neutron Scattering of Modified Portland Cement Compositions

    Get PDF
AbstractThis investigation is based on the results of the experiments on small angle neutron scattering (neutron wavelength is λ=0.3nm) and goes into patterning trans-atomic-level structure of hydrated portland cement compositions. The following structural parameters are determined: particle size distribution, porosity, fractal dimensionality. The paper stresses the effect of both artificial (γAl2O3, carbon materials) and technogenic (slurry) nanoagents and nanomodifiers on these structural parameters as well as the effect of complex additives with surface-active agents

Parabolic pulse generation with active or passive dispersion decreasing optical fibers

    Get PDF
We experimentally demonstrate the possibility to generate parabolic pulses via a single dispersion decreasing optical fiber with normal dispersion. We numerically and experimentally investigate the influence of the dispersion profile, and we show that a hybrid configuration combining dispersion decrease and gain has several benefits on the parabolic generated pulses

ARRANGING UNIVERSITY EDUCATIONAL PROCESS BASED ON THE REGIONAL COMPETENCE PROFILE

To date, there are not enough tools by which the high school would target a graduate to work in a particular company. Moreover, various bodies, even public ones, periodically request educational establishments to submit proposals for improving the staff selection and training practices. This is the relevance of our research. This article deals with a tool that allows an employer to reasonably select a university graduate who most fully meets the requirements of a particular company. Such a tool should be a mechanism for integrating the regional competence profile for the graduates. This mechanism can be implemented through the upload of students' academic project (term theses, projects, design graphics and research works, graduate thesis, etc.) in an electronic information system. In addition to the student’s study, the employer is offered access to abstracts, which contain a list of professional competences acquired by the student during the implementation of these studies. In addition, the employer is given the opportunity to write a comment regarding the relevance of the work and their final assessment, as well as suggest their own topic in the abstract. This will allow employers to track the professional growth of students they are interested in. In high school, this mechanism will affect the personal rating of the teacher - the head of the student’s academic work. Thus, the teacher motivated to increase their rating will be forced to make contact with employers through the online information environment to obtain relevant topics offered by them, and to improve the quality of students’ projects. The purpose of this study is to create a mechanism for integrating a regional competence profile of a graduate into a real educational process throughout the student’s entire learning path. The result of the study is a mechanism for the teacher to continuously have in mind the requirements of the regional labor market and design an in-demand competence profile throughout the student’s entire learning path. The study was carried out using the method of analysis, management in the chain "student-teacher-employer" on the basis of feedback, methods of observation and experiment.

THE MULTIFACTOR MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR CONSTRUCTING A MULTITUDE OF CONSISTENT EDUCATIONAL PATHS FOR TRAINING FULL STACK SPECIALISTS

    Get PDF
The modern labor market, especially in the field of information technology startups, requires the training of a sufficiently large number of specialists with competencies in creating the minimum viable product (MVP). The educational organization should be able to quickly form the trajectory of specialist training based on the challenges of the labor market, taking into account the dynamics of its change, while maintaining the integrity and consistency of the educational program. The mathematical model of the formation of an educational program is proposed taking into account a large number of variable parameters, which allows one to construct many possible training paths for specialists and select the optimal ones according to the criteria of cost, efficiency or laboriousness

SOCIO-CULTURAL COMPETENCE IN TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract. This article is devoted to the problem of integrating socio-cultural components into teaching and upbringing through foreign languages. The aim of teaching a foreign language means not only acquiring communication skill but also forming cultural and linguistic personality. This fact causes the emergence of new concepts in foreign language teaching e.g. concepts of intercultural communication and socio-cultural learning. The main aim of any communication is to be understood by interlocutor. The effectiveness of this process is directly dependent on the reached level of mutual understanding between communicants. To achieve this aim partners should have the willingness and capacity to form dialogue of cultures which presupposes the existence of a socio-cultural competence. Sociocultural competence includes knowledge about values, beliefs, behavior patterns, customs, traditions, language and cultural achievements peculiar to society. This competence occurs in the framework of socio-cultural education and training, i.e. in the process of personalizing the culture and national traditions of the studied languagecountry. Keywords: interculturalism, socio-cultural competence, foreign culture, communication, cognitive, tolerance, cross-cultural

Peptide Inhibitors of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A : Current Situation and Perspectives

    Get PDF
Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) are the family of extracellular signaling proteins involved in the processes of angiogenesis. VEGFA overexpression and altered regulation of VEGFA signaling pathways lead to pathological angiogenesis, which contributes to the progression of various diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration and cancer. Monoclonal antibodies and decoy receptors have been extensively used in the anti-angiogenic therapies for the neutralization of VEGFA. However, multiple side effects, solubility and aggregation issues, and the involvement of compensatory VEGFA-independent pro-angiogenic mechanisms limit the use of the existing VEGFA inhibitors. Short chemically synthesized VEGFA binding peptides are a promising alternative to these full-length proteins. In this review, we summarize anti-VEGFA peptides identified so far and discuss the molecular basis of their inhibitory activity to highlight their pharmacological potential as anti-angiogenic drugs.Peer reviewe

INFORMATION AND EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT FOR MONITORING AND FORMING A CUMULATIVE ASSESSMENT OF A STUDENT’S ACADEMIC WORK IN A SEMESTER

The article discusses the use of the student's cumulative assessment system of academic progress as a valid element of e-learning in universities. Today, online learning is becoming mainstream. Training on online platforms is convenient and interesting, however, it is not acceptable for all students due to the need to conclude network contracts or lack of regulations on how to recalculate the results of online training at the university, etc. Using the cumulative system becomes the mechanism that solves the issue of e-learning at universities, including using distance learning technologies, without cooperating with the online platforms. The suggested approach is a new one. The purpose of the article is to study the electronic information and educational environment of the university to monitor the students’ progress. The recommended assessment means the cumulative assessment, which reflects the consistency of knowledge of the student as a participant in the training process. The recommended assessment is suggested by the information system and is calculated using a mathematical model that considers all types of student work. The assessment becomes the main one and should be considered during an interim assessment. The study of the recommended assessment formation uses the methods of mathematical statistics, data grouping, associative data sets, data verification, database manipulation. The authors also give an optimal strategy for storing large amounts of data based on minimizing their volume while maintaining the necessary access speed.
