COMPARISON OF ELBOW ANGLES IN GYMNASTS WITH AND WITHOUT CHRONIC ELBOW PAIN IN HORSE VAULT ROUTINE

INTRODUCTION: Chronic elbow strain is an injury involving inflammation or fracture which is caused by repeated bending, stretching or rotating of the elbow over along period of time, or by squeezing from external force. When the athlete performs a vault dismount, the external force passes through his/her hands to the elbows, causing variations in elbow position. Therefore, the action of the elbow is crucial to vault routine. When the incorrect or irregular movement of elbows repeated again and again, it might cause chronic elbow strain. The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between elbow angle and elbow strain when performing two major movements in vault

Expanding social, psychological, and physical indicators of urbanites' life satisfaction toward residential community: a structural equation modeling analysis

Attention on, and interest in, life satisfaction has increased worldwide. However, research on life satisfaction focused toward the urban dwellers' residential community is mainly from western countries, and the limited research from China is solely focused on the geriatric population via a narrowly constrained research perspective. This study, therefore, aimed to investigate urbanites' life satisfaction toward their community, combining the psychological (behavioral community engagement, mental state of flow, and cognitive community identity), physical (PREQIs-perceived residential environment quality indicators: e.g., green area), and social perspectives (social capital). The proposed conceptual model was tested on a regionally representative sample of 508 urban community residents in the city of Chengdu, Sichuan province, China. Data were analyzed via a structure equation modelling approach in AMOS software. Findings suggested that all of the psychological, physical and social factors contributed to a prediction of life satisfaction. Specifically, social capital mediated the path from community engagement and flow to life satisfaction, and community identity mediated the path from flow experience and green area to life satisfaction. Additionally, social capital contributed to predict life satisfaction through its influence on community identity. Findings provide suggestions for urban designers and policymakers to focus on creating an urban community equipped with green area, which helps to promote physical activities that are flow-productive, to enhance residents' identification to their residential community and, therefore, increase life satisfaction

This article goes into the analysis of program executive path at length, performs a system of program executive path visualization, compares several aspects of different path coverage criteria and discusses the implementation of two specific, yet important, path combinations. In the end, it discusses briefly about the significance based on this system and further study

    Visual-Guided Mesh Repair

Mesh repair is a long-standing challenge in computer graphics and related fields. Converting defective meshes into watertight manifold meshes can greatly benefit downstream applications such as geometric processing, simulation, fabrication, learning, and synthesis. In this work, we first introduce three visual measures for visibility, orientation, and openness, based on ray-tracing. We then present a novel mesh repair framework that incorporates visual measures with several critical steps, i.e., open surface closing, face reorientation, and global optimization, to effectively repair defective meshes, including gaps, holes, self-intersections, degenerate elements, and inconsistent orientations. Our method reduces unnecessary mesh complexity without compromising geometric accuracy or visual quality while preserving input attributes such as UV coordinates for rendering. We evaluate our approach on hundreds of models randomly selected from ShapeNet and Thingi10K, demonstrating its effectiveness and robustness compared to existing approaches
