Analysis of heat transfer and thermal environment in a rural residential building for addressing energy poverty
Reducing energy consumption and creating a comfortable thermal indoor environment in rural residential buildings can play a key role in fighting global warming in China. As a result of economic development, rural residents are building new houses and modernizing existing buildings. This paper investigated and analyzed a typical rural residential building in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in Northwest China through field measurements and numerical simulation. The results showed that making full use of solar energy resources is an important way to improve the indoor temperature. Reasonable building layout and good thermal performance of the building envelope can reduce wind velocities and convective heat loss. Insulation materials and double-glazed windows should be used to reduce energy loss in new buildings, although it is an evolution process in creating thermally efficient buildings in rural China. This research provides a reference for the design and construction of rural residential buildings in Northwest China and similar areas for addressing energy poverty
DMF-Net: A decoupling-style multi-band fusion model for full-band speech enhancement
For the difficulty and large computational complexity of modeling more
frequency bands, full-band speech enhancement based on deep neural networks is
still challenging. Previous studies usually adopt compressed full-band speech
features in Bark and ERB scale with relatively low frequency resolution,
leading to degraded performance, especially in the high-frequency region. In
this paper, we propose a decoupling-style multi-band fusion model to perform
full-band speech denoising and dereverberation. Instead of optimizing the
full-band speech by a single network structure, we decompose the full-band
target into multi sub-band speech features and then employ a multi-stage chain
optimization strategy to estimate clean spectrum stage by stage. Specifically,
the low- (0-8 kHz), middle- (8-16 kHz), and high-frequency (16-24 kHz) regions
are mapped by three separate sub-networks and are then fused to obtain the
full-band clean target STFT spectrum. Comprehensive experiments on two public
datasets demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms previous advanced
systems and yields promising performance in terms of speech quality and
intelligibility in real complex scenarios
Robust Adaptive Control and L
This paper deals with the robust stabilizability and L2 disturbance attenuation for a class of time-delay Hamiltonian control systems with uncertainties and external disturbances. Firstly, the robust stability of the given systems is studied, and delay-dependent criteria are established based on the dissipative structural properties of the Hamiltonian systems and the Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) functional approach. Secondly, the problem of L2 disturbance attenuation is considered for the Hamiltonian systems subject to external disturbances. An adaptive control law is designed corresponding to the time-varying delay pattern involved in the systems. It is shown that the closed-loop systems under the feedback control law can guarantee the γ-dissipative inequalities be satisfied. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the theoretical developments
Effect of pilose antler polypeptide on the mechanism of bone homeostasis in osteoporosis
Osteoporosis stands out as a prevalent metabolic disorder, bearing significant repercussions on human well-being and overall quality of life. It remains an urgent concern within the global public health framework due to its widespread occurrence. Osteoporosis arises from an abnormal metabolism in osteoblasts and osteoclasts, resulting in a disruption of the delicate equilibrium between bone formation and bone resorption. Within this context, deer antler peptides emerge as natural active compounds, wielding a pivotal role in governing the differentiation, proliferation, and mineralization of osteoblasts, as well as influencing the activity of osteoclasts. This article aims to consolidate our comprehension of the mechanisms underpinning the dynamic balance between bone formation and resorption, meticulously orchestrated by osteoblasts and osteoclasts in osteoporosis. Furthermore, it offers a comprehensive overview of how deer antler peptides, through their modulation of relevant signaling pathways, contribute to the enhancement of bone homeostasis. These insights deepen our understanding of the pathological processes through which deer antler peptides ameliorate bone homeostasis, while also presenting novel strategies for osteoporosis management
PyPop7: A Pure-Python Library for Population-Based Black-Box Optimization
In this paper, we present a pure-Python open-source library, called PyPop7,
for black-box optimization (BBO). It provides a unified and modular interface
for more than 60 versions and variants of different black-box optimization
algorithms, particularly population-based optimizers, which can be classified
into 12 popular families: Evolution Strategies (ES), Natural Evolution
Strategies (NES), Estimation of Distribution Algorithms (EDA), Cross-Entropy
Method (CEM), Differential Evolution (DE), Particle Swarm Optimizer (PSO),
Cooperative Coevolution (CC), Simulated Annealing (SA), Genetic Algorithms
(GA), Evolutionary Programming (EP), Pattern Search (PS), and Random Search
(RS). It also provides many examples, interesting tutorials, and full-fledged
API documentations. Through this new library, we expect to provide a
well-designed platform for benchmarking of optimizers and promote their
real-world applications, especially for large-scale BBO. Its source code and
documentations are available at

Sparse Bayesian Learning-Based Hierarchical Construction for 3D Radio Environment Maps Incorporating Channel Shadowing
The radio environment map (REM) visually displays the spectrum information
over the geographical map and plays a significant role in monitoring,
management, and security of spectrum resources. In this paper, we present an
efficient 3D REM construction scheme based on the sparse Bayesian learning
(SBL), which aims to recovery the accurate REM with limited and optimized
sampling data.In order to reduce the number of sampling sensors, an efficient
sparse sampling method for unknown scenarios is proposed. For the given
construction accuracy and the priority of each location, the quantity and
sampling locations can be jointly optimized. With the sparse sampled data, by
mining the spectrum situation sparsity and channel propagation characteristics,
an SBL-based spectrum data hierarchical recovery algorithm is developed to
estimate the missing data of unsampled locations. Finally, the simulated 3D REM
data in the campus scenario are used to verify the proposed methods as well as
to compare with the state-of-the-art. We also analyze the recovery performance
and the impact of different parameters on the constructed REMs. Numerical
results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can ensure the construction
accuracy and improve the computational efficiency under the low sampling rate
Bobtraillite from Gejiu hyperagpaitic nepheline syenite, southwestern China: new occurrence and crystal structure
Abstract. A second occurrence of bobtraillite is described from the
Gejiu nepheline syenite, southwestern China. The extremely rare and complex
boron-bearing zirconium silicate is associated with albite, orthoclase,
jadeite, fluorite, andradite, titanite, as well as other REE and
zirconium-bearing minerals, catapleiite, moxuanxueite, låvenite,
eudialyte, britholite-(Ce), and calcioancylite-(La). The EMP and LA-ICP-MS
analyses of the studied material give an empirical formula:
(Na9.70Li0.42K0.08□1.80)Σ12.00(Sr10.61Ca1.14Fe0.07□0.18)Σ12.00(Zr12.87Ti0.53Nb0.31REE0.08Y0.06U0.02Th0.01□0.12)Σ14.00(Si42.41B5.59Al0.02)Σ48.02O132(OH)12 ⚫ 12H2O. Bobtraillite is trigonal,
with space group P3¯c1, a=19.6977(6), c=9.9770(3) Å, V=3352.4(2) Å3, Z=1. Single-crystal structure refinement revealed
that all sodium occupies the Na(1) and Na(2) sites; the site occupancy of
these two positions is 0.835(18) and 0.15(2), respectively, suggesting that
Na(1) site is Na dominant, while Na(2) is a vacancy-dominant site. The
[8]-coordinated site has been assigned to Sr and Ca, with free
occupancy factors, 0.874(10) and 0.126(10), respectively. These new data
indicate that the ideal formula of bobtraillite could be written as
(Na,□)12(□,Na)12Sr12Zr14(Si3O9)10[Si2BO7(OH)2]6 ⚫ 12H2O
