    The signal transduction pathway of PKC/NF-κB/c-fos may be involved in the influence of high glucose on the cardiomyocytes of neonatal rats

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>High glucose could induce structure and function change in cardiomyocytes, PKC plays a core effect in the onset and progression of diabetic cardiomyopathy, but its underlying downstream signal transduction pathway is still not completely understood.</p> <p>Objectives</p> <p>To study the influence of high glucose on the structure, function and signal transduction pathway of PKC (Protein Kinase C)/NF-κB(Nuclear factor-κB)/c-fos in cultured cardiomyocytes.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>Using cultured cardiomyocytes of neonatal Sprague-Dawley rats as a model, groups were divided into: control group (glucose: 5 mmol/L); high glucose group (glucose: 10 mmol/L, 15 mmol/L, 20 mmol/L, 25.5 mmol/L); equimolar mannital group (5 mmol/L glucose + 20.5 mmol/L maninital); high glucose(25.5 mmol/L) add PKC inhibitor (Ro-31-8220, 50 nmol/L); high glucose (25.5 mmol/L) add NF-κB inhibitor (BAY11-7082, 5 μmol/L). The cellular contracting frequency and volumes were measured and the expression of PKC-α, PKC-β2, p-PKC-α, p-PKC-β2, NF-κB, p-NF-κB, TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor-α) and c-fos were measured by western blot or RT-PCR.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Cardiomyocytes cultured in high glucose level, but not iso-osmotic mannital, showed an increased pulsatile frequency and higher cellular volumes consistent with the increased glucose levels, and also higher expression of PKC-α, PKC-β2, p-PKC-α, p-PKC-β2, NF-κB, p-NF-κB, TNF-α and c-fos. The addition of Ro-31-8220 and BAY11-7082 could partly reverse these changes induced by high glucose level.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>High glucose significantly increased the pulsatile frequency and cellular volumes of cultured cardiomyocytes via PKC/NF-κB/c-fos pathway, which might lead to diabetic cardiomyopathy.</p

    The Study of the Composite Material Go/CF/PTFE Tribological Property

    In this paper, the composite material Go/CF/PTFE tribological property was studied. The test of its mechanical property, and the fabrication of the filled PTEE composite material sample which is based on the technology of cold press molding and sinter molding proved that adding Go and CF moderately to the composite material was an efficient way to improve its mechanical property. Meanwhile the process of friction and wear trial and SEM analysis results of the micro-structure of wear pattern proved that the addition of the Go and CF tremendously improved the anti-wear property and that after the addition the plowing effect which took place on the material surface would turn into a kind of mixed wear effect that includes plowing effect and fatigue wear. Working as pinning and bridging, the Go which distributing uniformly in the matrix was able to improve the resistance and substantially resisted the crack propagation, therefore to a certain degree enhanced the intensity of composite material and prolong its lifespan

    The Entanglement in Anisotropic Heisenberg XYZ Chain with inhomogeneous magnetic field

    The thermal entanglement of a two-qubit anisotropic Heisenberg XYZXYZ chain under an inhomogeneous magnetic field b is studied. It is shown that when inhomogeneity is increased to certain value, the entanglement can exhibit a larger revival than that of less values of b. The property is both true for zero temperature and a finite temperature. The results also show that the entanglement and critical temperature can be increased by increasing inhomogeneous exteral magnetic field

    Rethinking the Reasonability of the Test Set for Simultaneous Machine Translation

    Simultaneous machine translation (SimulMT) models start translation before the end of the source sentence, making the translation monotonically aligned with the source sentence. However, the general full-sentence translation test set is acquired by offline translation of the entire source sentence, which is not designed for SimulMT evaluation, making us rethink whether this will underestimate the performance of SimulMT models. In this paper, we manually annotate a monotonic test set based on the MuST-C English-Chinese test set, denoted as SiMuST-C. Our human evaluation confirms the acceptability of our annotated test set. Evaluations on three different SimulMT models verify that the underestimation problem can be alleviated on our test set. Further experiments show that finetuning on an automatically extracted monotonic training set improves SimulMT models by up to 3 BLEU points.Comment: Accepted by 48th IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing (ICASSP 2023
