Angular Momentum of a Brane-world Model
In this paper we discuss the properties of the general covariant angular
momentum of a five-dimensional brane-world model. Through calculating the total
angular momentum of this model, we are able to analyze the properties of the
total angular momentum in the inflationary RS model. We show that the
space-like components of the total angular momentum of are all zero while the
others are non-zero, which agrees with the results from ordinary RS model.Comment: 8 pages; accepted by Chinese Physics
PLA2G6-Associated Neurodegeneration (PLAN): Review of Clinical Phenotypes and Genotypes
Phospholipase A2 group VI (PLA2G6)-associated neurodegeneration (PLAN) includes a series of neurodegenerative diseases that result from the mutations in PLA2G6. PLAN has genetic and clinical heterogeneity, with different mutation sites, mutation types and ethnicities and its clinical phenotype is different. The clinical phenotypes and genotypes of PLAN are closely intertwined and vary widely. PLA2G6 encodes a group of VIA calcium-independent phospholipase A2 proteins (iPLA2β), an enzyme involved in lipid metabolism. According to the age of onset and progressive clinical features, PLAN can be classified into the following subtypes: infantile neuroaxonal dystrophy (INAD), atypical neuroaxonal dystrophy (ANAD) and parkinsonian syndrome which contains adult onset dystonia parkinsonism (DP) and autosomal recessive early-onset parkinsonism (AREP). In this review, we present an overview of PLA2G6-associated neurodegeneration in the context of current research
TopoSZ: Preserving Topology in Error-Bounded Lossy Compression
Existing error-bounded lossy compression techniques control the pointwise
error during compression to guarantee the integrity of the decompressed data.
However, they typically do not explicitly preserve the topological features in
data. When performing post hoc analysis with decompressed data using
topological methods, preserving topology in the compression process to obtain
topologically consistent and correct scientific insights is desirable. In this
paper, we introduce TopoSZ, an error-bounded lossy compression method that
preserves the topological features in 2D and 3D scalar fields. Specifically, we
aim to preserve the types and locations of local extrema as well as the level
set relations among critical points captured by contour trees in the
decompressed data. The main idea is to derive topological constraints from
contour-tree-induced segmentation from the data domain, and incorporate such
constraints with a customized error-controlled quantization strategy from the
classic SZ compressor. Our method allows users to control the pointwise error
and the loss of topological features during the compression process with a
global error bound and a persistence threshold
Numerical Simulation on Heat Transfer Performance of Silicon Carbide/ Nitrate Composite for Solar Power Generation
KNO3 was used as the phase change material (PCM), but its thermal conductivity is too low to transfer heat between the PCM and conduction oil efficiently. In this thesis, on the basis of the previous studies (Yong Li, 2015), the solar power generation efficiency is enhanced with high temperature interval (280℃—400℃), and the new composite which are composed by the SiC honeycomb (SCH) frame and infiltrated KNO3 is simulated by using Fluent software. The results show that the new composite of the KNO3 +30%SCH suit for the requirement of the charging time and capacity in the design of the thermal energy storage units (TESU); The comparable simulation for the long and short pipe models supplies the evidences that the long pipe simulation can be substituted by the short pipe simulation relatively, which reduces the 3-D simulation time enormously; The comparable simulation of the radial dimensions supplies some theory foundations for the design of the module thermal energy storage tank (MTEST) . These simulation results have important guidance on the design of the thermal energy storage unit and the module thermal energy storage tank
