In this paper, we discuss the problem of characterization for uncertain multichannel digital signal spaces, propose using fuzzy n-cell number space to represent uncertain n-channel digital signal space, and put forward a method of constructing such fuzzy n-cell numbers. We introduce two new metrics and concepts of certain types of difference values on fuzzy n -cell number space and study their properties. Further, based on the metrics or difference values appropriately defined, we put forward an algorithmic version of pattern recognition in an imprecise or uncertain environment, and we also give practical examples to show the application and rationality of the proposed technique

Dynamic analysis and control of strip mill vibration under the coupling effect of roll and rolled piece

    Get PDF
According to the “Hill rolling force formula”, taking particular account of the influence from horizontal vibration of rolled piece in roll gap, a dynamic rolling force model is analyzed. Considering the interaction between vibration of strip and roll, the dynamic vibration model of rolling mill is established. On this basis, the time delayed feedback is introduced to control the vibration of the roll system. The amplitude frequency response of the coupled vibration control equation is obtained by using the multiple scales method. Different time delay parameters are selected to test the control effect. Research results show that the unstable vibration of the roll system can be suppressed with appropriate time delay feedback parameters. Because it is simpler and has good control effect in solving nonlinear mechanical vibration, so these results will make a difference for the research of strip mill vibration, and provide theoretical basis for strip steel production

The purpose of this study was to evaluate dendrimer-entrapped gold nanoparticles [Au DENPs] as a molecular imaging [MI] probe for computed tomography [CT]. Au DENPs were prepared by complexing AuCl4- ions with amine-terminated generation 5 poly(amidoamine) [G5.NH2] dendrimers. Resulting particles were sized using transmission electron microscopy. Serial dilutions (0.001 to 0.1 M) of either Au DENPs or iohexol were scanned by CT in vitro. Based on these results, Au DENPs were injected into mice, either subcutaneously (10 μL, 0.007 to 0.02 M) or intravenously (300 μL, 0.2 M), after which the mice were imaged by micro-CT or a standard mammography unit. Au DENPs prepared using G5.NH2 dendrimers as templates are quite uniform and have a size range of 2 to 4 nm. At Au concentrations above 0.01 M, the CT value of Au DENPs was higher than that of iohexol. A 10-μL subcutaneous dose of Au DENPs with [Au] ≥ 0.009 M could be detected by micro-CT. The vascular system could be imaged 5 and 20 min after injection of Au DENPs into the tail vein, and the urinary system could be imaged after 60 min. At comparable time points, the vascular system could not be imaged using iohexol, and the urinary system was imaged only indistinctly. Findings from this study suggested that Au DENPs prepared using G5.NH2 dendrimers as templates have good X-ray attenuation and a substantial circulation time. As their abundant surface amine groups have the ability to bind to a range of biological molecules, Au DENPs have the potential to be a useful MI probe for CT

Development of 15kA/cm2^2 Fabrication Process for Superconducting Integrated Digital Circuits

A new fabrication process for superconducting integrated digital circuits is reported. We have developed the "SIMIT Nb04" fabrication technique for superconducting integrated circuits with Nb-based Josephson junctions based on the validated "SIMIT Nb03" process and Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) technology. Seven Nb superconducting layers and one Mo resistor layer are included in the "SIMIT Nb04" process with 19 mask levels. The device structure is composed of active layers including junctions at the bottom, two passive transmission line (PTL) layers in the middle and a DC power layer at the top. The circuit fabrication started with the fabrication of Mo resistors with a target sheet resistance Rsh of 3 Ω\Omega, followed by the deposition of Nb/Al-AlOx_x/Nb trilayer Josephson-junction with a target critical current density Jc at 15 kA/cm2^2. To increase the Al-AlOx_x barrier layer etching's repeatability, an additional barrier protection layer was applied. To accomplish high-quality planarization, we created a planarization procedure coupled with dummy filling. To assess the process dependability and controllability, a set of process control monitors (PCMs) for monitoring fabrication and design parameters was designed and monitored. The successful manufacturing and testing of a few small-scale circuits, like our standard library cells, further attests to the viability of our fabrication process for superconducting integrated circuits

Purpose: This paper aims to explore whether functional liver imaging score (FLIS) based on Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images at 5, 10, and 15 min can predict liver function in patients with liver cirrhosis or chronic liver disease and its association with indocyanine green 15-min retention rate (ICG-R15), Child-Pugh (CP) score, albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) score, and model for end-stage liver disease (MELD) score. In addition, it also examines the inter- and intra-observer consistency of FLIS and three FLIS parameters at three different time points. Methods: This study included 110 patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) or liver cirrhosis (LC) (93 men, 17 women; mean ± standard deviation = 56.96 ± 10.16) between July 2019 and May 2022. FLIS was assigned in accordance with the sum of the three hepatobiliary phase characteristics, all of which were scored on the 0–2 ordinal scale, including the biliary excretion, hepatic enhancement and portal vein signal intensity. FLIS was calculated independently by two radiologists using transitional and hepatobiliary phase images at 5, 10, and 15 min after enhancement. The relationship between FLIS and three FLIS quality scores and the degree of liver function were evaluated using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient. The ability of FLIS to predict hepatic function was investigated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results: Intra- and inter-observer intraclass correlation coefficients (ICCs) (ICC = 0.937–0.978, 95% CI = 0.909–0.985) for FLIS at each time point indicated excellent agreement. At each time point, FLIS had a moderate negative association with liver function classification (r = [−0.641]-[−0.428], p < 0.001), and weak to moderate correlation with some other clinical parameters except for creatinine (p > 0.05). FLIS showed moderate discriminatory ability between different liver function levels. The area under the ROC curves (AUCs) of FLIS at 5, 10, and 15 min after enhancement to predict ICG-R15 of 10% or less were 0.838, 0.802, and 0.723, respectively; those for predicting ICG-R15 greater than 20% were 0.793, 0.824, and 0.756, respectively; those for predicting ICG-R15 greater than 40% were 0.728, 0.755, and 0.741, respectively; those for predicting ALBI grade 1 were 0.734, 0.761, and 0.691, respectively; those for predicting CP class A cirrhosis were 0.806, 0.821, and 0.829, respectively; those for predicting MELD score of 10 or less were 0.837, 0.877, and 0.837, respectively. No significant difference was found in the AUC of FLIS at 5, 10 and 15 min (p > 0.05).Conclusion: FLIS presented a moderate negative correlation with the classification system of hepatic function at a delay of 5, 10, and 15 min, and patients with LC or CLD were appropriately stratified based on ICG-R15, ALBI grade, MELD score, and CP classification. In addition, the use of FLIS to evaluate liver function can reduce the observation time of the hepatobiliary period

IntroductionEndophytes and their host plants have co-evolved for a very long time. This relationship has led to the general recognition of endophytes as a particular class of microbial resources. R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’ is drought- and barren-resistant species that can be grown in both the north and south of China, efficiently addresses the ecological issues caused by China’s ‘southern eucalyptus and northern poplar. Up to date, cultured-dependent studies are available for the R. pseudoacacia nitrogen-fixing and other endophytes. Therefore, the present research studied the R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen,’ microbiome in detail by high-throughput sequencing and culture dependant.MethodsThis study examined microbial species and functional diversity in Robinia pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’ using culture-dependent (isolation) and culture-independent techniques.ResultsA total of 210 isolates were isolated from R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen.’ These isolates were clustered into 16 groups by the In Situ PCR (IS-PCR) fingerprinting patterns. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis of the representative strain of each group revealed that these groups belonged to 16 species of 8 genera, demonstrating the diversity of endophytes in R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’. ’Bacillus is the most prevalent genus among all the endophytic bacteria. High-throughput sequencing of endophytic bacteria from R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’ of the plant and the rhizosphere soil bacteria showed that the bacterial populations of soil near the root, leaf, and rhizosphere differed significantly. The microbial abundance decreased in the endophytes as compared to the rhizosphere. We observed a similar community structure of roots and leaves. With and without root nodules, Mesorhizobium sp. was significantly different in R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’ plant.DiscussionIt was predicted that R. pseudoacacia ‘Hongsen’ plant endophytic bacteria would play a significant role in the metabolic process, such as carbohydrate metabolism, amino acid metabolism, membrane transport, and energy metabolism

IntroductionSoil salinization poses a significant environmental challenge affecting plant growth and agricultural sustainability. This study explores the potential of salt-tolerant endophytes to mitigate the adverse effects of soil salinization, emphasizing their impact on the development and resistance of Arachis hypogaea L. (peanuts).MethodsThe diversity of culturable plant endophytic bacteria associated with Miscanthus lutarioriparius was investigated. The study focused on the effects of Bacillus tequilensis, Staphylococcus epidermidis, and Bacillus siamensis on the development and germination of A. hypogaea seeds in pots subjected to high NaCl concentrations (200 mM L−1).ResultsUnder elevated NaCl concentrations, the inoculation of endophytes significantly (p < 0.05) enhanced seedling germination and increased the activities of enzymes such as Superoxide dismutase, catalase, and polyphenol oxidase, while reducing malondialdehyde and peroxidase levels. Additionally, endophyte inoculation resulted in increased root surface area, plant height, biomass contents, and leaf surface area of peanuts under NaCl stress. Transcriptome data revealed an augmented defense and resistance response induced by the applied endophyte (B. tequilensis, S. epidermidis, and B. siamensis) strain, including upregulation of abiotic stress related mechanisms such as fat metabolism, hormones, and glycosyl inositol phosphorylceramide (Na+ receptor). Na+ receptor under salt stress gate Ca2+ influx channels in plants. Notably, the synthesis of secondary metabolites, especially genes related to terpene and phenylpropanoid pathways, was highly regulated.ConclusionThe inoculated endophytes played a possible role in enhancing salt tolerance in peanuts. Future investigations should explore protein–protein interactions between plants and endophytes to unravel the mechanisms underlying endophyte-mediated salt resistance in plants

The Association between ATM IVS 22-77 T>C and Cancer Risk: A Meta-Analysis

    Get PDF
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: It has become increasingly clear that ATM (ataxia-telangiectasia-mutated) safeguards genome stability, which is a cornerstone of cellular homeostasis, and ATM IVS 22-77 T>C affects the normal activity of ATM proteins. However, the association between the ATM IVS 22-77 T>C genetic variant and cancer risk is controversial. Therefore, we conducted a systematic meta-analysis to estimate the overall cancer risk associated with the polymorphism and to quantify any potential between-study heterogeneity. METHODS: A total of nine studies including 4,470 cases and 4,862 controls were analyzed for ATM IVS 22-77 T>C association with cancer risk in this meta-analysis. Heterogeneity among articles and their publication bias were also tested. RESULTS: Our results showed that no association reached the level of statistical significance in the overall risk. Interestingly, in the stratified analyses, we observed an inverse relationship in lung and breast cancer. CONCLUSION: Further functional research on the ATM mechanism should be performed to explain the inconsistent results in different cancer types
