Ion cumulation by conical cathode electrolysis.
Results of solid-state sodium stearate electrolysis with conical and cylindrical cathodes is presented here. Both electric measurement and conical samples destruction can be explained if a stress developing inside the conical sample is much bigger than in the cylindrical case and there is its unlimited amplification along cone slopes. Low-Temperature Decoherence of Qubit Coupled to Background Charges
We have found an exact expression for the decoherence rate of a Josephson
charge qubit coupled to fluctuating background charges. At low temperatures
the decoherence rate is linear in while at high temperatures it
saturates in agreement with a known classical solution which, however, reached
at surprisingly high . In contrast to the classical picture, impurity states
spread in a wide interval of energies () may essentially contribute to

impurity states spread in wide interval of energies. Some changes have been
made to the abstract and the introductio
Collective and fractal properties of pion jets in the four-velocity space at intermediate energies
Experimental results are presented for study of collective and fractal
properties of soft pion jets in the space of relative four-dimensional
velocities. Significant decreasing is obtained for mean square of second
particle distances from jet axis for pion-proton interactions at initial
energies GeV in comparison with hadron-nuclear collisions at close
energies. The decreasing results in power dependence of distance variable on
collision energy for range GeV. The observation allows us to
estimate the low boundary of manifestation of color degree of freedom in pion
jet production. Cluster dimension values were deduced for pion jets in various
reactions. Fractional values of this dimension indicate on the manifestation of
fractal-like properties by pion jets. Changing of mean kinetic energy of jet
particles and fractal dimension with initial energy increasing is consistent
with suggestion for presence of color degrees of freedom in pion jet production
at intermediate energies.Comment: The conference "Physics of fundamental interactions". ITEP, Moscow,

Comparison of Geant4 hadron generation with data from the interactions with beryllium nuclei of +8.9 GeV/c protons and pions, and of -8 GeV/c pions
Hadron generation in the Geant4 simulation tool kit is compared with
inclusive spectra of secondary protons and pions from the interactions with
beryllium nuclei of +8.9 GeV/c protons and pions, and of -8.0 GeV/c pions. The
data were taken in 2002 at the CERN Proton Synchrotron with the HARP
spectrometer. We report on significant disagreements between data and simulated
data especially in the polar-angle distributions of secondary protons and
pions.Comment: 15 pages, 13 figure
Air ions induced aerosol sensing by eye-safe LIDAR
Low concentrations aerosols quantification is rather challenging for LIDAR
instruments due to eye-safety restrictions so high energy pulses cannot be
utilized to improve the sensitivity. Highly sensitive but eye-save LIDAR has
been developed for the quantification of the water droplet aerosol which was
induced by air ions. Few days sensing of aerosols in closed tunnel revealed a
strong correlation between air optical transparency (LIDAR measurements) and
concentrations of positive/negative ions (ion counter Sapphir 3-M). The
correlation coefficient was observed to be almost unity for the air
transparency signal and air ions unipolarity coefficient. High sensitivity of
the water droplet aerosol quantification makes the developed eye-safe LIDAR a
perspective instrument for space resolved measurements of the air ions
distribution. Space and time resolved measurements of air ions exhalation can
be a new instrument for tectonic activity study including new earthquake
forecasting indicators search
