BRST Extension of the Non-Linear Unfolded Formalism
We review the construction of gauge field theories from BRST first-quantized
systems and its relation to the unfolded formalism. In particular, the BRST
extension of the non linear unfolded formalism is discussed in some details.Comment: 15 pages. Extended version of the talks given at the conference

Manifestly Conformal Descriptions and Higher Symmetries of Bosonic Singletons
The usual ambient space approach to conformal fields is based on identifying
the d-dimensional conformal space as the Dirac projective hypercone in a flat
d+2-dimensional ambient space. In this work, we explicitly concentrate on
singletons of any integer spin and propose an approach that allows one to have
both locality and conformal symmetry manifest. This is achieved by using the
ambient space representation in the fiber rather than in spacetime. This
approach allows us to characterize a subalgebra of higher symmetries for any
bosonic singleton, which is a candidate higher-spin algebra for mixed symmetry
gauge fields on anti de Sitter spacetime. Furthermore, we argue that this
algebra actually exhausts all higher symmetries.Comment: the bug with symbol is fixe
Frame-like Lagrangians and presymplectic AKSZ-type sigma models
We study supergeometric structures underlying frame-like Lagrangians. We show
that for the theory in n spacetime dimensions both the frame-like Lagrangian
and its gauge symmetries are encoded in the target supermanifold equipped with
the odd vector field, the closed 2-form of ghost degree n-1, and the scalar
potential of ghost degree n. These structures satisfy a set of compatibility
conditions ensuring the gauge invariance of the theory. The Lagrangian and the
gauge symmetries have the same structures as those of AKSZ sigma model so that
frame-like formulation can be seen as its presymplectic generalization. In
contrast to the conventional AKSZ model the generalization allows to describe
systems with local degrees of freedom in terms of finite-dimensional target
space. We argue that the proposed frame-like approach is directly related de
Donder-Weyl polymomentum Hamiltonian formalism. Along with the standard
field-theoretical examples like Einstein-Yang-Mills theory we consider free
higher spin fields, multi-frame gravity, and parameterized systems. In
particular, we propose the frame-like action for free totally symmetric
massless fields that involves all higher spin connections on an equal footing.Comment: 28 pages; v2: references added; v3: 34 pages, exposition improved,

Notes on conformal invariance of gauge fields
In Lagrangian gauge systems, the vector space of global reducibility
parameters forms a module under the Lie algebra of symmetries of the action.
Since the classification of global reducibility parameters is generically
easier than the classification of symmetries of the action, this fact can be
used to constrain the latter when knowing the former. We apply this strategy
and its generalization for the non-Lagrangian setting to the problem of
conformal symmetry of various free higher spin gauge fields. This scheme allows
one to show that, in terms of potentials, massless higher spin gauge fields in
Minkowski space and partially-massless fields in (A)dS space are not conformal
for spin strictly greater than one, while in terms of curvatures, maximal-depth
partially-massless fields in four dimensions are also not conformal, unlike the
closely related, but less constrained, maximal-depth Fradkin--Tseytlin fields.Comment: 38 page
Local BRST cohomology and Seiberg-Witten maps in noncommutative Yang-Mills theory
We analyze in detail the recursive construction of the Seiberg-Witten map and
give an exhaustive description of its ambiguities. The local BRST cohomology
for noncommutative Yang-Mills theory is investigated in the framework of the
effective commutative Yang-Mills type theory. In particular, we show how some
of the conformal symmetries get obstructed by the noncommutative deformation.Comment: 34 pages Latex file, 2 additional references adde
