Sinteza i karakterizacija uns-cis-(etilendiamin-N,N'-di-3-propionato) (N-alkiletilendiamin) kobalt(III) kompleksa
Three octahedral cobalt(III) complexes of the general formula uns-cis-[Co(eddp)(R-en)]Cl . H2O, where eddp = the tetradentate ONNO-type ligand ethylenediamine-N,N'-di-3-propionate and R-en = a bidentate NN-type ligand, either N-methyl, N-ethyl or N-iso-propylethylenediamine. The complexes were prepared by the reaction of sodium uns-cis-(ethylenediamine-N,N'-di-3-propionato)(carbonato)cobalt(III)dihydrate with the corresponding diamine. They were isolated chromatographically and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared and electronic absorption spectroscopy.U ovom radu su sintetisana i okarakterisana tri oktaedarska kobalt(III) kompleksa opšte formule uns-cis-[Co(eddp) (R-en)]Cl∙2H2O, gde je eddp tetradentatni ONNO- tip liganda etilendiamin-N,N'-di-3-propionat, a R-en bidentatni NN ligand, N-metil, N-etil ili N-izopropiletilendidamin. The New Ruthenium(Ii)-Bipyridyl Complex with O,O '-Diethyl-(S,S)Ethylenediamine-N,N '-Di-2-(3-Cyclohexyl)Propanoate: Synthesis and Characterization
The new bipyridyl complex of ruthenium(II) with O, O'-diethyl-(S, S)-ethylenediamine- N, N'-di- 2(3-cyclohexyl) propanoate was synthesized. The reaction of cis-[RuCl2(bpy)(2)] and its ligand was performed in water/ethanol solution, in the presence of lithium hydroxide, under reflux. After the addition of ammonium hexafluorophosphate, the complex was precipitated. The complex, cis-[Ru(bpy)(2)L](PF6)(2), was characterized by H-1 and C-13 NMR, UV-Vis, IR spectroscopy, ESI-MS spectrometry and elemental analysis. Results indicate an octahedral geometry of the complex, with N, N'-coordinated O, O'- diethyl-(S, S)ethylenediamine-N, N'-di- 2-(3-cyclohexyl) propanoate. Complexes of this type are particularly important in terms of potential cytotoxicity and application in photodynamic therapy. Using this therapy, many side effects can be reduced, which may allow the administration of higher drug dosages

In vivo ispitivanje enzimske aktivnosti nekih Ru(II) jedinjenja sa N-alkilfenotiazinima
The purpose of the present study was to investigate and compare the effects of two ruthenium complexes with trifl uoperazine on acethylcholinesterase enzyme activity and lactate dehydrogenase levels in vivo under physiological conditions in rats blood. Complexes 1 and 2 showed positive effects on acethylcholinesterase at all doses and did not disturb its normal activity. Total LDH activity was inhibited in the presence of both complexes, but Ru(II) complexes showed different effects on the activity of LDH isoenzymes. The activities of LDH1 and LDH2 isoenzymes were decreased in all applied doses of the complex 2, while the activity of LDH2 reduced using complex 1 in the same doses. Results of the present study suggest the neuro-and cardio protective potential of oral administration of complexes 1 and 2, as non-toxic compounds under physiological conditions. These protective effects are the result of their potent antioxidant activity.Cilj ovog rada je da se ispitaju i uporede efekti dva kompleksa rutenijuma sa trifluoperazinom na aktivnost enzima acetilholinesteraze i laktat-dehidrogenase in vivo pod fiziološkim uslovima u krvi pacova. Kompleksi 1 i 2 pokazali su pozitivan efekat na aktivnost acetiholinesteraze u svim primenjenim dozama. Ukupna aktivnost LDH je inhibirana u prisustvu oba kompleksa, ali kompleksi Ru(II) pokazuju različite rezultate na izoenzimske oblike ovog enzima. Aktivnosti izoenzima LDH1 i LDH2 su smanjene u svim primenjenim dozama kompleksa 2, dok kompleks 1 smanjuje aktivnost samo izoenzima LDH2 u tim istim koncentracijama. Rezultati prikazanog istraživanja ukazuju na neuro - i kardio zaštitni potencijal oralne primene kompleksa 1 i 2, kao netoksičnih jedinjenja pod fiziološkim uslovima, indukovano preko njihovog snažnog antioksidativnog efekta
Microflora of the neonatal and infant gut
U radu se daje pregled mikroflore novorođenčadi i dojenčadi. Predominantna mikroflora su bifidobakterije, koje su podržavane bifidofaktorom iz ženina mlijeka. Izazovno terapeutsko pitanje je pokušaj restrukturiranja poremećene crijevne flore prema tome modelu. Daju se ujedno rezultati istraživanja crijevne flore u fecesu dojenčadi naše djece, gdje je vidljivo da vrsta i broj klica ovise o načinu prehrane dojenčadi.In this paper recent data and results of our own studies on the microbial flora of neonatal and infant gastrointestinal tract are presented. The predominant microbes in neonantal gut are Bifidobacteriaceae, the growth of which is promoted by bifidofactor from the human milk. According to the results of our studies, intestinal microflora of neonates and infants is strongly influenced by infants\u27 nutrition. Finally, it is an intriguing question whether the pathologic microflora of the gut could be established by giving either bifidofactor or pharmaceutical normal gut microflora
