The objective of this research is to evaluate the percentage of removal with NO3⁻ and PO₄³ in the
wastewater we collected of mouth in Machángara river, for that we were using the Chlorella
vulgaris microalgae. The experimental work had three stages, the first stage refers about lasted, it
is the period of 1 month that consisted of adapting the conditions for the growth and development
of the microalga in which it isolated in petri dishes to avoid contamination, the culture medium
was prepared with foliar nitrofoska and nutrient agar, once the microalgae was isolated, 3 culture
doses were prepared to determine the growth curve, it is using the neubauer chamber and
spectrophotometer to obtain the absorbance.; The second stage lasted a period of three weeks in
which 3 treatments were applied with different concentrations of 100, 80 and 60 mL of microalgae
inoculum and 400 mL of residual water, which had three repetitions, which were in suitable
conditions. controlled in a sparging photobioreactor; In the last stage, the physical, chemical and
microbiological parameters were analyzed through which treatment 2 was determined as the best,
with a removal percentage of 51.97% NO3- and 50.48% PO43-, a treatment that was developed in
a range of temperatures from 19°C to 21.4°C and an initial pH of 9.71 and a final pH of 7.29, an
ideal environment for microalgae. For the parameters nitrate, phosphate and cell growth, the
statistical analysis of variance was applied to more accurately determine the best treatment. During
the second stage, turbidity, conductivity, pH, temperature, COD, nitrates and phosphates were
monitored twice a week. According to the results obtained, it was possible to demonstrate the
ability of microalgae to adsorb nitrate and phosphate from wastewater, which makes them a viable,
economical possibility in reducing pollutants
