VESTIGE: Adjuvant Immunotherapy in Patients With Resected Esophageal, Gastroesophageal Junction and Gastric Cancer Following Preoperative Chemotherapy With High Risk for Recurrence (N+ and/or R1): An Open Label Randomized Controlled Phase-2-Study.
Background: Perioperative chemotherapy plus surgery is one recommended standard treatment for patients with resectable gastric and esophageal cancer. Even with a multimodality treatment more than half of patients will relapse following surgical resection. Patients who have a poor response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy and have an incomplete (R1) resection or have metastatic lymph nodes in the resection specimen (N+) are especially at risk of recurrence. Current clinical practice is to continue with the same chemotherapy in the adjuvant setting as before surgery. In the phase II randomized EORTC VESTIGE trial (NCT03443856), patients with high risk resected gastric or esophageal adenocarcinoma will be randomized to either adjuvant chemotherapy (as before surgery) or to immunotherapy with nivolumab and low dose ipilimumab (nivolumab 3 mg/kg IV Q2W plus Ipilimumab 1 mg/kg IV Q6W for 1 year). The primary endpoint of the study is disease free survival, with secondary endpoints of overall survival, safety and toxicity, and quality of life. This is an open label randomized controlled multi-center phase-2 superiority trial. Patients will be randomized in a 1:1 ratio to study arms. The trial will recruit 240 patients; recruitment commenced July 2019 and is anticipated to take 30 months. Detailed inclusion/exclusion criteria, toxicity management guidelines, and statistical plans for EORTC VESTIGE are described in the manuscript. Clinical Trial Registration: The trial is registered with www.ClinicalTrials.gov, identifier: NCT03443856
Genome-Wide Crossover Distribution in Arabidopsis thaliana Meiosis Reveals Sex-Specific Patterns along Chromosomes
In most species, crossovers (COs) are essential for the accurate segregation of homologous chromosomes at the first meiotic division. Their number and location are tightly regulated. Here, we report a detailed, genome-wide characterization of the rate and localization of COs in Arabidopsis thaliana, in male and female meiosis. We observed dramatic differences between male and female meiosis which included: (i) genetic map length; 575 cM versus 332 cM respectively; (ii) CO distribution patterns: male CO rates were very high at both ends of each chromosome, whereas female CO rates were very low; (iii) correlations between CO rates and various chromosome features: female CO rates correlated strongly and negatively with GC content and gene density but positively with transposable elements (TEs) density, whereas male CO rates correlated positively with the CpG ratio. However, except for CpG, the correlations could be explained by the unequal repartition of these sequences along the Arabidopsis chromosome. For both male and female meiosis, the number of COs per chromosome correlates with chromosome size expressed either in base pairs or as synaptonemal complex length. Finally, we show that interference modulates the CO distribution both in male and female meiosis
Valores de arsénico en aguas de dos cuencas de la Llanura Pampeana, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The comparison of the arsenic contents in the watersheds of the Pergamino-Arrecifes Rivers and Salado River in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina shows higher values in the latter. The opposite is observed in the volcanic glass content of the sediments, 30% and 20%, respectively. The traditional interpretation of the relationship arsenic content-volcanics in sediment is questioned. Arsenic origin could be related to the volcanism and associated hydrothermal activity of the Andes Cordillera between 14 and 28°S. Secondary dispersion by means of surface waters would be the main process implied in arsenic transport to the aquifers. The change from being airborne to being drainage-borne has important consequences in the understanding of the regional distribution of arsenic. This new perspective can support new ways for water quality management in relation to the exploration and use of alternative low arsenic water sources.Peer reviewe

The Place Names of French Guiana in the Face of the Geoweb: Between Data Sovereignty, Indigenous Knowledge, and Cartographic Deregulation
This critical analysis of the process of a posteriori recognition of toponyms is based on deconstruction of local, national, and international toponymic databases circulating on the geoweb, supported by interviews with the advocates of these corpora. We propose a critical analysis of toponymic data flows, examining how these data transit through the Web and disappear into the limbo of the Internet or gradually become definitive. This highlights the complexity of the current digital geographic information landscape: national institutes defend a form of data sovereignty for their territory, but they are caught between the digital empowerment of local communities now able to produce counter-cartographies and planetwide cartographic deregulation emanating from the Web giants.Gouvernance des grands espaces amazoniens et enjeux environnementaux : l'intérieur du plateau des Guyanes et ses défi
