Coexisting multiple dynamic states generated by magnetic field in Bi-2212 stacked Josephson junctions
Josephson vortices in naturally stacked Bi-2212 tunneling junctions display
rich dynamic behavior that derives from the coexistence of three basic states:
static Josephson vortex lattice, coherently moving lattice, and incoherent
quasiparticle tunneling state. Rich structure of hysteretic branches observed
in the current-voltage characteristics can be understood as combinatorial
combinations of these three states which are realized in different junctions
and evolve separately with magnetic field and bias current. In particular, the
multiple Josephson-vortex-flow branches at low bias currents arise from the
individual depinning of Josephson vortex rows in each junction.Comment: Submitted to Europhysics Letter
Detection of Baryon Acoustic Oscillation Features in the Large-Scale 3-Point Correlation Function of SDSS BOSS DR12 CMASS Galaxies
We present the large-scale 3-point correlation function (3PCF) of the SDSS
DR12 CMASS sample of Luminous Red Galaxies, the largest-ever sample
used for a 3PCF or bispectrum measurement. We make the first high-significance
() detection of Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAO) in the 3PCF.
Using these acoustic features in the 3PCF as a standard ruler, we measure the
distance to to precision (statistical plus systematic). We
find for our
fiducial cosmology (consistent with Planck 2015) and bias model. This
measurement extends the use of the BAO technique from the 2-point correlation
function (2PCF) and power spectrum to the 3PCF and opens an avenue for deriving
additional cosmological distance information from future large-scale structure
redshift surveys such as DESI. Our measured distance scale from the 3PCF is
fairly independent from that derived from the pre-reconstruction 2PCF and is
equivalent to increasing the length of BOSS by roughly 10\%; reconstruction
appears to lower the independence of the distance measurements. Fitting a model
including tidal tensor bias yields a moderate significance (
detection of this bias with a value in agreement with the prediction from local

Clinical efficacy and safety of autologous serum intramuscular injection in patients with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis: a prospective, open-label, uncontrolled study
Background Autologous blood therapy (ABT) has been used to treat atopic dermatitis (AD) for over a century, even though evidence supporting its efficacy is lacking. We aimed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of autologous serum intramuscular injection (ASIM), which is a modified form of ABT, in treating mild-to-moderate AD. Methods This study was a 12-week, open-label, prospective, uncontrolled trial. Following a 4-week run-in period, 22 out of 25 screened patients received ASIM once a week for 4 weeks in conjunction with standard treatment. The primary outcome measure was the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI), while the secondary outcomes included the Scoring Atopic Dermatitis (SCORAD) score, Dermatologic Life Quality Index (DLQI), and patient ratings of pruritus, sleep difficulty, disease status, and treatment effectiveness. Safety parameters were also assessed. Results EASI scores showed a non-statistically significant trend toward improvement during ASIM intervention. Patients with at least a 50% improvement in the EASI score at 4 weeks were older and had lower peripheral eosinophil counts (p<0.05). Secondary endpoints, including the SCORAD score, pruritus, sleep difficulty, and DLQI, demonstrated statistically significant improvements at week 4 compared to baseline (p<0.05). No significant adverse reactions were observed. Conclusions This pioneering study suggests that repeated ASIM may improve the clinical symptoms of mild-to-moderate AD, particularly in terms of pruritus and overall quality of life. However, further research with a larger sample size is required to establish the clinical significance of these findings
Short range scattering effect of InAs quantum dots in the transport properties of two dimensional electron gas
Short range interaction between two dimensional electron gas (2DEG) and InAs quantum dots embedded in the GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well is investigated as a function of carrier density. At low carrier density the interaction is significantly characterized by a transport to quantum lifetime ratio of less than 5. However, with an increase in carrier density, quantum lifetime is observed to undergo a sharp transition from 0.17 to 0.25 ps. This is attributed to the screening of short range repulsive scattering due to InAs quantum dots by the 2DEG.open7
SUCCESSFUL FACTORS OF 540° DWIHURYEOCHAGI IN TAEKWONDO
The purpose of our study was to provide fundamental information about success factors of 540° Dwihuryeochagi in Taekwondo. Twenty Taekwondo athletes who participated in the 2012 Taekwondo Kyukpa Wang (breaking king) championship: ten successful athletes (S, age: 23.1±1.6 yrs, height: 171.0±3.5 cm, body mass: 66.4±7.1 kg) and ten failed athletes (F, age: 22.3±1.8 yrs, height: 172.1±5.4 cm, body mass: 64.4±4.2 kg) were selected. Three-dimensional motion analysis using a system of 3 video cameras with a sampling of 60 fields/s was performed during the competition of 540 ° Dwihuryeochagi. Based on the findings, it is concluded that success factors of 540° Dwihuryeochagi were horizontal velocity of COM during P1, vertical velocity of COM during P2, and the time, kick distance, velocity and angle of lower extremities of P3-P4
