Spinning particles in Taub-NUT space
The geodesic motion of pseudo-classical spinning particles in Euclidean
Taub-NUT space is analysed. The constants of motion are expressed in terms of

Spin Orbit Coupling in Orthogonal Charge Transfer States: (TD-)DFT of Pyrene-Dimethylaniline
The conformational dependence of the matrix element for spinâorbit coupling and of the electronic coupling for charge separation are determined for an electron donorâacceptor system containing a pyrene acceptor and a dimethylaniline donor. Different kinetic and energetic aspects that play a role in the spinâorbit charge transfer intersystem crossing (SOCT-ISC) mechanism are discussed. This includes parameters related to initial charge separation and the charge recombination pathways using the Classical Marcus Theory of electron transfer. The spinâorbit coupling, which plays a significant role in charge recombination to the triplet state, can be probed by (TD)-DFT, using the latter as a tool to understand and predict the SOCT-ISC mechanism. The matrix elements for spinâorbit coupling for acetone and 4-thio-thymine are used for benchmarking. (Time Dependent-) Density Functional Theory (DFT and TD-DFT) calculations are applied using the quantum chemical program Amsterdam Density Functional (ADF).</p
All the Four Dimensional Static, Spherically Symmetric Solutions of Abelian Kaluza-Klein Theory
We present the explicit form for all the four dimensional, static,
spherically symmetric solutions in -d Abelian Kaluza-Klein theory by
performing a subset of transformations corresponding to four
boosts on the Schwarzschild solution, supplemented by
transformations. The solutions are parameterized by the mass , Taub-Nut
charge , electric and magnetic
charges. Non-extreme black holes (with zero Taub-NUT charge) have either the
Reissner-Nordstr\" om or Schwarzschild global space-time. Supersymmetric
extreme black holes have a null or naked singularity, while non-supersymmetric
extreme ones have a global space-time of extreme Reissner-Nordstr\" om black

Gravitational lensing by a charged black hole of string theory
We study gravitational lensing by the
Gibbons-Maeda-Garfinkle-Horowitz-Strominger (GMGHS) charged black hole of
heterotic string theory and obtain the angular position and magnification of
the relativistic images. Modeling the supermassive central object of the galaxy
as a GMGHS black hole, we estimate the numerical values of different
strong-lensing parameters. We find that there is no significant string effect
present in the lensing observables in the strong-gravity scenario.Comment: 6 page
STATIC FOUR-DIMENSIONAL ABELIAN BLACK HOLES IN KALUZA-KLEIN THEORY
Static, four-dimensional (4-d) black holes (BH's) in ()-d Kaluza-Klein
(KK) theory with Abelian isometry and diagonal internal metric have at most one
electric () and one magnetic () charges, which can either come from the
same -gauge field (corresponding to BH's in effective 5-d KK theory) or
from different ones (corresponding to BH's with isometry
of an effective 6-d KK theory). In the latter case, explicit non-extreme
solutions have the global space-time of Schwarzschild BH's, finite temperature,
and non-zero entropy. In the extreme (supersymmetric) limit the singularity
becomes null, the temperature saturates the upper bound
, and entropy is zero. A class of KK BH's with
constrained charge configurations, exhibiting a continuous electric-magnetic
duality, are generated by global transformations on the above classes

Quaternionic and Hyper-K\"ahler Metrics from Generalized Sigma Models
The problem of finding new metrics of interest, in the context of SUGRA, is
reduced to two stages: first, solving a generalized BPS sigma model with full
quaternionic structure proposed by the authors and, second, constructing the
hyper-K\"{a}hler metric, or suitable deformations of this condition, taking
advantage of the correspondence between the quaternionic left-regular potential
and the hyper-K\"{a}hler metric of the target space. As illustration, new
solutions are obtained using generalized Q-sigma model for Wess-Zumino type
superpotentials. Explicit solutions analog to the Berger's sphere and
Abraham-Townsend type are given and generalizations of 4-dimensional
quaternionic metrics, product of complex ones, are shown and discussed.Comment: 8 pages, two column, no figure
Voice Flows To And Around Leaders: Understanding When Units Are Helped Or Hurt By Employee Voice
In two studies, we develop and test theory about the relationship between speaking up, one type of organizational citizenship behavior, and unit performance by accounting for where employee voice is flowing. Results from a qualitative study of managers and professionals across a variety of industries suggest that voice to targets at different formal power levels (peers or superiors) and locations in the organization (inside or outside a focal unit) differs systematically in terms of its usefulness in generating actions to a unit's benefit on the issues raised and in the likely information value of the ideas expressed. We then theorize how distinct voice flows should be differentially related to unit performance based on these core characteristics and test our hypotheses using time-lagged field data from 801 employees and their managers in 93 units across nine North American credit unions. Results demonstrate that voice flows are positively related to a unit's effectiveness when they are targeted at the focal leader of that unitwho should be able to take actionwhether from that leader's own subordinates or those in other units, and negatively related to a unit's effectiveness when they are targeted at coworkers who have little power to effect change. Together, these studies provide a structural framework for studying the nature and impact of multiple voice flows, some along formal reporting lines and others that reflect the informal communication structure within organizations. This research demonstrates that understanding the potential performance benefits and costs of voice for leaders and their units requires attention to the structure and complexity of multiple voice flows rather than to an undifferentiated amount of voice.Business Administratio
