This reflective essays retraces the experience of ‘Mirabilia’, an online project originated at the beginning of the Italian lockdown (March 2020) by a spontaneous group made up of researchers from different disciplines, which had the purpose of showing human creativity and the ability to find strategies for survival and ways to cope with adversity. In particular, the essay illustrates “The Breath of Time”, a virtual exhibition created by Mirabilia: through a public call, many images and narrations of personal and particularly significant objects were collected during the quarantine, and are here discussed and illustrated

The anthropological research worked out on a sample of rural population in Châteauponsac and in the nearby villages ( Haute Vienne) in XVIII and XX centuries has allowed us to analyze the changes occurred in these countries. The data have been taken from the civil state archives which are exhaustive and have allowed us to assess these changes in a continuous way. The data of marriages, which means the social and demographical behavior of the population complete social and cultural data with the bio-demographical and biological data ( age of women at their first child, intrinsic interval, etc). The calculation of endogamy, exogamy and consanguinity have highlighted the important features of these populations. Starting from these different birth, marriages and death records, we have reconstructed the families, which is an important task to understand the problems related to the nature of the whole community. The research have revealed the opening of the population which is characterized by a valley endogamy, although it is a mountain population. My studies have highlighted this aspect and have also analyzed the effects of the demographical transition, the shift from ancient to modern society and migratory flood. A more comprehensive interpretation of results of anthropological studies have been worked out through the integration with the historical data and through the analysis of geographical and socio-cultural data.AIX-MARSEILLE2-Bib.electronique (130559901) / SudocSudocFranceF

Arte irregolare in Italia. Storie, passaggi e connessioni

Over the past hundred years, artefacts produced by people with mental disabilities or who live various forms of social marginalization have been collected, investigated, exhibited and discussed. However, absolute criteria to consider them as works of art or, on the contrary, as mere expressive productions without aesthetic qualities are yet to come. Still, it is now possible to trace the history of the matter, hence to infer useful elements for a general reflection. Paying a specific attention to the case of the City of Turin, that holds one of the oldest and richest Art Brut collections in Italy (eg. Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography), the history of this process is here reconstructed connecting the international with the local emergence of this production. Furthermore, the dialogue now going on with irregular and contemporary artworks in exhibitions and projects is also investigated.
