Turbulence driven particle transport in Texas Helimak
We analyze the turbulence driven particle transport in Texas Helimak (K. W.
Gentle and Huang He, Plasma Sci. and Technology, 10, 284 (2008)), a toroidal
plasma device with one-dimensional equilibrium with magnetic curvature and
shear. Alterations on the radial electric field, through an external voltage
bias, change spectral plasma characteristics inducing a dominant frequency for
negative bias values and a broad band frequency spectrum for positive bias
values. For negative biased plasma discharges, the transport is high where the
waves propagate with phase velocities near the plasma flow velocity, an
indication that the transport is strongly affected by a wave particle resonant
interaction. On the other hand, for positive bias the plasma has a reversed
shear flow and we observe that the transport is almost zero in the shearless
radial region, an evidence of a transport barrier in this region.Comment: 8 pages, 11 figure

Components of multifractality in the Central England Temperature anomaly series
We study the multifractal nature of the Central England Temperature (CET)
anomaly, a time series that spans more than 200 years. The series is analyzed
as a complete data set and considering a sliding window of 11 years. In both
cases, we quantify the broadness of the multifractal spectrum as well as its
components defined by the deviations from the Gaussian distribution and the
influence of the dependence between measurements. The results show that the
chief contribution to the multifractal structure comes from the dynamical
dependencies, mainly the weak ones, followed by a residual contribution of the
deviations from Gaussianity. However, using the sliding window, we verify that
the spikes in the non-Gaussian contribution occur at very close dates
associated with climate changes determined in previous works by component
analysis methods. Moreover, the strong non-Gaussian contribution found in the
multifractal measures from the 1960s onwards is in agreement with global
results very recently proposed in the literature.Comment: 21 pages, 10 figure
Hamiltonian Relaxation
Due to the complexity of the required numerical codes, many of the new
formulations for the evolution of the gravitational fields in numerical
relativity are not tested on binary evolutions. We introduce in this paper a
new testing ground for numerical methods based on the simulation of binary
neutron stars. This numerical setup is used to develop a new technique, the
Hamiltonian relaxation (HR), that is benchmarked against the currently most
stable simulations based on the BSSN method. We show that, while the length of
the HR run is somewhat shorter than the equivalent BSSN simulation, the HR
technique improves the overall quality of the simulation, not only regarding
the satisfaction of the Hamiltonian constraint, but also the behavior of the
total angular momentum of the binary. The latest quantity agrees well with
post-Newtonian estimations for point-mass binaries in circular orbits.Comment: More detailed description of the numerical implementation added and

Recollements of Module Categories
We establish a correspondence between recollements of abelian categories up
to equivalence and certain TTF-triples. For a module category we show,
moreover, a correspondence with idempotent ideals, recovering a theorem of
Jans. Furthermore, we show that a recollement whose terms are module categories
is equivalent to one induced by an idempotent element, thus answering a
