Change in the room temperature magnetic property of ZnO upon Mn doping

We present in this paper the changes in the room temperature magnetic property of ZnO on Mn doping prepared using solvo-thermal process. The zero field cooled (ZFC) and field cooled (FC) magnetisation of undoped ZnO showed bifurcation and magnetic hysteresis at room temperature. Upon Mn doping the magnetic hysteresis at room temperature and the bifurcation in ZFC-FC magnetization vanishes. The results seem to indicate that undoped ZnO is ferromagnetic while on the other hand the Mn doped ZnO is not a ferromagnetic system. We observe that on addition of Mn atoms the system shows antiferromagnetism with very giant magnetic moments.Comment: 5 figure

An Effective Sentence Ordering Approach For Multi-Document Summarization Using Text Entailment

With the rapid development of modern technology electronically available textual information has increased to a considerable amount. Summarization of textual inform ation manually from unstructured text sources creates overhead to the user, therefore a systematic approach is required. Summarization is an approach that focuses on providing the user with a condensed version of the origina l text but in real time applicat ions extended document summarization is required for summarizing the text from multiple documents. The main focus of multi - document summarization is sentence ordering and ranking that arranges the collected sentences from multiple document in order to gene rate a well - organized summary. The improper order of extracted sentences significantly degrades readability and understandability of the summary. The existing system does multi document summarization by combining several preference measures such as chronology, probabilistic, precedence, succession, topical closeness experts to calculate the preference value between sentences. These approach to sent ence ordering and ranking does not address context based similarity measure between sentences which is very ess ential for effective summarization. The proposed system addresses this issues through textual entailment expert system. This approach builds an entailment model which incorpo rates the cause and effect between sentences in the documents using the symmetric measure such as cosine similarity and non - symmetric measures such as unigram match, bigram match, longest common sub - sequence, skip gram match, stemming. The proposed system is efficient in providing user with a contextual summary which significantly impro ves the readability and understandability of the final coherent summa

Objective: To formulate and characterize. Phenobarbital sodium loaded sublingual patch using biodegradable, mucoadhesive, fast-dissolving natural polymer pullulan for immediate management of epileptic seizures. Methods: Phenobarbital sodium loaded sublingual patches were prepared by the solvent casting method and were subjected to various physicochemical evaluation parameters to find the optimized sublingual patch. The in vitro drug release study and kinetic model of the optimized formulation was also carried out. The stability study of the optimized Phenobarbital sodium loaded sublingual patch was also done. Results: From in vitro drug release study, it was found that Phenobarbital sodium loaded sublingual patch (S4) exhibited a maximum drug release of 96.24±1.27% at the end of 60 min compared to other formulations indicating a faster drug release from the formulation with release kinetics as Higuchi diffusion model. In fact, a notable release data was obtained between 0.5 to 8 min by all formulations, specifically S4 formulation (20.84±1.97% and 77.22±2.41% drug release at the end of 0.5 min and 8 min respectively) showed a better percentage release profile in comparison with other formulations. Such a trend is vital to deliver the drug at a faster rate to promote immediate effect for managing the fatal and complicated seizure. Considering the physicochemical property and in vitro drug release data, S4 formulation was regarded as an optimized one. The stability study also confirmed that S4 formulation is stable at refrigeration conditions. Conclusion: The formulated Phenobarbital sodium loaded sublingual patch is an effective drug delivery carrier which enables faster drug release to manage epileptic seizure

The fungus, Cladosporium oxysporum Berk. and Curt. was screened for their ability to decolourize Reactive Blue HER in aqueous solutions and observed that had higher dye decolourization (99.81 %) achieved by live biomass, dead biomass. In batch mode (Agitated mode), the lower concentrations (10 mg/L) of Reactive Blue showed complete removal (100%) at an equilibrium time of 60 min for both live and autoclaved biomass. Dye adsorption isotherm, Langmuir model fitted well with 2 R    values more than 0.9. RL (equilibrium parameter) values (indicating type of isotherm) of live and autoclaved mycelia at different adsorbate concentrations were always less than one and more than zero thereby indicating favourable adsorption of dyes onto the adsorbent. With the increase of dosage, no re-stabilization phenomenon or removal reduction was observed. Highest adsorption was observed in autoclaved biomass, 48.31 mg/g. Agitated mode was found to be more efficient and easy to operate for the removal of dyes

Background: Corona virus is a single stranded RNA virus with a diameter of 80 to 120 nm. It causes respiratory illness ranging from mild nasal stuffiness to severe respiratory infection which may lead to death. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of COVID-19 on maternal and perinatal outcome. Methods: This retrospective study was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Government Sivagangai Medical College from June 2020 to November 2020. Totally 406 mothers were included in this study and the maternal and perinatal outcome analysed. Results: Majority of the patients were less than 30 years (85.95%) and only 14.03% were more than 30 years. Out of 406 patients 208 (51.23%) were multigravida. Out of 406 patients 148 patients had medical disorders like gestational hypertension, hypothyroidism, gestational diabetes mellitus, heart disease, anemia and bronchial asthma. Anemia being the most common followed by gestational hypertension. Among 406 patients, 100 (24.64%) patients were asymptomatic, 89 patients (21.92%) had fever, 50 patients (12.31%) had cough, 22 patients (5.4%) had difficulty in breathing, 62 patients (15.2%) had nasal congestion, 28 patients (6.8%) had headache, 55 patients (13.54%) had anosmia.72 (17.7%) patients had minimal ground glass opacity, 21 patients (5.17%) had ground glass opacity with consolidation, 15 patients (3.69%) had pneumonia with pleural effusion. Remedisivir IV was administered as per protocol to symptomatic patients and patients with CT findings. None of the mothers needed ventilator support or high flow oxygen (>12 l) and there was no maternal death. Among 207 babies (1 twin) delivered, about 91 babies weighed more than 3 kg, 77 babies weighed 2.6 to 3 kg, 31 babies weighed 2.1 to 2.5 kg, 8 babies weighed less than 2 kg. 38 babies had low birth weight. Five babies were found to be COVID-19 positive at birth and all five of them weighed more than 3 kg.Conclusions: Appropriate timely management is the key for safe motherhood and healthy offspring during this pandemic

3D Stacked Cache Data Management for Energy Minimization of 3D Chip Multiprocessor

    Get PDF
In this model a runtime cache data mapping is discussed for 3-D stacked L2 caches to minimize the overall energy of 3-D chip multiprocessors (CMPs). The suggested method considers both temperature distribution and memory traffic of 3-D CMPs. Experimental result shows energy reduction achieving up to 22.88% compared to an existing solution which considers only the temperature distribution.  New tendencies envisage 3D Multi-Processor System-On-Chip (MPSoC) design as a promising solution to keep increasing the performance of the next-generation high performance computing (HPC) systems. However, as the power density of HPC systems increases with the arrival of 3D MPSoCs with energy reduction achieving up to 19.55% by supplying electrical power to the computing equipment and constantly removing the generated heat is rapidly becoming the dominant cost in any HPC facility
