    Factors affecting innovation management at Mazinoor lighting Ind. In Iran

    The purpose of this study was to identify what factors affecting innovation management and investigate the relationship between those factors and innovation management. A survey has been done to explore innovation management being practiced in Mazinoor Company, an Iranian Company that manufactures lighting products. The respondents in the survey were selected from the personnel of Mazinoor Co. who were involved in innovation activities and the questionnaires were sent to them for collection of data for analysis. The findings demonstrated that five factors top management support, team working, communication and knowledge sharing, organizational culture and leadership have statistically significant positive correlation with innovation management. The results also indicated that among those factors, top management support had the most significant influence on performance of innovation management in Mazinoor Co., followed by team working, leadership and communication. The findings of this study are expected to enhance the existing literature on innovation management in Iran and it also provides managers of Mazinoor Co. with the necessary information regarding the level of managing innovation in that company

    The Role of Potential Licensee Availability in Facilitating Commercialization of Academic Research Results

    AbstractThis paper mainly focuses on investigating the effects of the availability of potential licensee as a measure of academic commercialization. Moreover, a qualitative research method is adopted based on the case study approach. In order to explore the issues of this study, ten face-to-face interviews were conducted. The respondents were chosen among inventors, researchers, academic entrepreneurs and Technology Transfer Office staffs in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The researcher used content-analysis approach to analyse the data obtained from the interviews. The results showed that the availability of potential licensee and awareness of the invention market potential facilitated the invention commercialization

    The relationship between stategic compensation practices and affective organizational commitment

    The study, conducted in universities of medical sciences, seeks to investigate the relationships among strategic compensation practices, psychological contract, and affective organizational commitment. In addition, the study aims to test the mediating effect of psychological contract in the relationship between strategic compensation practices and affective organizational commitment. The study sample comprised 301 non academic staff in the universities of medical sciences in Iran. Results reveal that strategic compensation practices led to perceived fulfillment of psychological contract and the latter, in turn, led to higher affective organizational commitment. In addition, employees with higher levels of affective organizational commitment who perceived a fulfillment of psychological contract were less likely to leave an organization. There was significant relationship between employees’ psychological contract and their affective organizational commitment. The study’s findings are generalizable to other universities of medical sciences and perhaps to similar universities in the Iran. Future research should examine the antecedents and consequences of affective organizational commitment in other universities in Iran. The study suggested that to avoid intention to leave and retain employees who identify with their values and goals, organizations ought to provide effective strategic compensation practices in decision-making.Implications of the findings of this study and possible directions for future research are also discussed
