MANAGING KNOWLEDGE AND DATA FOR A BETTER DECISION IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
In the current context, the society is dominated by the rapid development of computer networks and the integration of services and facilities offered by the Internet environment at the organizational level. The success of an organization depends largely on the quality and quantity of information it has available to develop quickly decisions able to meet the current needs. The need for a collaborative environment within the central administration leads to the unification of resources and instruments around the Center of Government, to increase both the quality and efficiency of decision - making, especially reducing the time spent with decision - making, and upgrading the decision – making act.administration, strategy, decision, complex systems, management, infrastructure, e-government, information society, government platform.
Cloud Computing as Evolution of Distributed Computing – A Case Study for SlapOS Distributed Cloud Computing Platform
The cloud computing paradigm has been defined from several points of view, the main two directions being either as an evolution of the grid and distributed computing paradigm, or, on the contrary, as a disruptive revolution in the classical paradigms of operating systems, network layers and web applications. This paper presents a distributed cloud computing platform called SlapOS, which unifies technologies and communication protocols into a new technology model for offering any application as a service. Both cloud and distributed computing can be efficient methods for optimizing resources that are aggregated from a grid of standard PCs hosted in homes, offices and small data centers. The paper fills a gap in the existing distributed computing literature by providing a distributed cloud computing model which can be applied for deploying various applications
New Classes of Applications in the Cloud. Evaluating Advantages and Disadvantages of Cloud Computing for Telemetry Applications
Nowadays companies are moving some parts of their businesses to the cloud. Industry predictions are that this trend will continue to grow and develop even further in the coming few years. While Cloud computing is undoubtedly beneficial for mid-size to large companies, it is not without its downsides, especially for smaller businesses. This paper's aim is to deliver an analysis based on advantages and disadvantages of Cloud computing technology, in order to help organizations fully understand and adopt this new computing technology. Finally, to prove the advantages that Cloud technology can have for this domain, we are presenting a cloud application for telemetry, with a focus on monitoring hydro-energy. We consider that the way to attain the benefits of Cloud technology is to understand its strengths and weaknesses and adapt to them accordingly
CLOUD COMPUTING AND INTERNET OF THINGS FOR SMART CITY DEPLOYMENTS
Cloud Computing represents the new method of delivering hardware and software resources to the users, Internet of Things (IoT) is currently one of the most popular ICT paradigms. Both concepts can have a major impact on how we build smart or/and smarter cities. Cloud computing represents the delivery of hardware and software resources on-demand over the Internet as a Service. At the same time, the IoT concept envisions a new generation of devices (sensors, both virtual and physical) that are connected to the Internet and provide different services for value-added applications. In this paper we present our view on how to deploy Cloud computing and IoT for smart or/and smarter cities. We demonstrate that data gathered from heterogeneous and distributed IoT devices can be automatically managed, handled and reused with decentralized cloud services
Mobile Computing and Cloud maturity - Introducing Machine Learning for ERP Configuration Automation
Nowadays the smart phone market is clearly growing due to the new type of functionalities that mobile devices have and the role that they play in everyday life. Their utility and benefits rely on the applications that can be installed on the device (the so-called mobile apps). Cloud computing is a way to enhance the world of mobile application by providing disk space and freeing the user of the local storage needs, this way providing cheaper storage, wider acces-sibility and greater speed for business. In this paper we introduce various aspects of mobile computing and we stress the importance of obtaining cloud maturity by using machine learning for automating configurations of software applications deployed on cloud nodes using the open source application ERP5 and SlapOS, an open source operating system for Decentralized Cloud Computing
