In the molecular structure of the title compound, C19H24ClNO3S, the six-membered ring of the bornane unit shows a boat form, while the five-membered ring of the sultam unit adopts a twist form. Intramolecular C—H⋯N and C—H⋯O interactions are observed. In the crystal structure, molecules are connected by intermolecular C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a chain running along the b axis. The crystal was a partial inversion twin with a twin ratio of 0.73 (1):0.27 (1)

Prediction of necrotizing enterocolitis in very low birth weight infants by superior mesenteric artery ultrasound of postnatal day 1: A nested prospective study

BackgroundNecrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a devastating intestinal complication that occurs mainly in very-low-birth-weight infants (VLBWI). The study's aim was to investigate the possibility of early prediction of NEC on postnatal day 1 based on superior mesenteric artery (SMA) doppler ultrasonograpy.MethodsA prospective, observational, nested case control study (ChiCTR1900026197) was conducted to enroll VLBWIs (birth weight <1,500 grams) between October 2019 and September 2021. Doppler ultrasound measurement was done during the first 12 h of life and before first feeding. Infants developing NEC (stage II or III) subsequently were included in NEC group and infants spare of NEC were included in control group.Results370 VLBWIs were enrolled (30 NEC cases). Among the ultrasound parameters, S/D was significantly higher in the NEC group (OR: 2.081, 95% CI: 1.411–3.069, P = 0.000). The area under the receiver operating curve (AUROC) following the Logistic regression was 0.704 (95% CI: 0.566–0.842, P = 0.001). The sensitivity of S/D for predicting NEC was 52.2% and the specificity was 92.7%. The critical value of S/D was 6.944 and Youden index was 0.449. Preplanned subgroup analysis confirmed that NEC infants of different stages were characterized by different SMA bloodstream. Small for gestational age (SGA) might be a confounding factor affecting intestinal bloodflow. And infants with delayed initiation or slow advancement of feeding exhibited characteristic intestinal perfusion.ConclusionsIn VLBWI, early SMA ultrasound shows the potential to predict NEC. It is reasonable to speculate that SMA bloodstream is related to intestinal structural and functional integrity

A case of giant Ewing's sarcoma (EES)/primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of the cervicothoracic junction in children with incomplete paralysis of both lower limbs: Case report and literature review

BackgroundExtraosseous Ewing's sarcoma/primary neuroectodermal tumor (EES/PNET) is a rare, malignant, small round blue cell tumor, which usually involves the larynx, kidneys, and esophagus. The most common metastatic sites are lung and bone. The incidence of epidural EES/PNET was 0.9%, and a detailed search of the PubMed literature found only 7 case reports of epidural ESS/PNET at the cervicothoracic junction in children.Case descriptionWe report a case of epidural ESS/PNET at the cervicothoracic junction in a child with chest and back pain as the first symptom, which worsened after half a year and developed incomplete paralysis of both lower extremities and urinary incontinence. She underwent emergency surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and died of lung metastases 8 months after surgery.ConclusionPrimary epidural tumors are mostly benign, such as spinal meningiomas and neuromas. Contrary to what has been previously thought, we report a case of malignant epidural EES/PNET at the cervicothoracic junction without bone destruction; The rarity of epidural EES/PNET at the cervicothoracic junction in children has led to a lack of data, particularly on prognostic factors and recurrence patterns. Due to the difficulty of early diagnosis and high mortality, spine surgeons must explore and increase their awareness of this disease

A SWAP Gate for Spin Qubits in Silicon

With one- and two-qubit gate fidelities approaching the fault-tolerance threshold for spin qubits in silicon, how to scale up the architecture and make large arrays of spin qubits become the more pressing challenges. In a scaled-up structure, qubit-to-qubit connectivity has crucial impact on gate counts of quantum error correction and general quantum algorithms. In our toolbox of quantum gates for spin qubits, SWAP gate is quite versatile: it can help solve the connectivity problem by realizing both short- and long-range spin state transfer, and act as a basic two-qubit gate, which can reduce quantum circuit depth when combined with other two-qubit gates. However, for spin qubits in silicon quantum dots, high fidelity SWAP gates have not been demonstrated due to the requirements of large circuit bandwidth and a highly adjustable ratio between the strength of the exchange coupling J and the Zeeman energy difference Delta E_z. Here we demonstrate a fast SWAP gate with a duration of ~25 ns based on quantum dots in isotopically enriched silicon, with a highly adjustable ratio between J and Delta E_z, for over two orders of magnitude in our device. We are also able to calibrate the single-qubit local phases during the SWAP gate by incorporating single-qubit gates in our circuit. By independently reading out the qubits, we probe the anti-correlations between the two spins, estimate the operation fidelity and analyze the dominant error sources for our SWAP gate. These results pave the way for high fidelity SWAP gates, and processes based on them, such as quantum communication on chip and quantum simulation by engineering the Heisenberg Hamiltonian in silicon.Comment: 25 pages, 5 figures

A simulation study on the measurement of D0-D0bar mixing parameter y at BES-III

We established a method on measuring the \dzdzb mixing parameter yy for BESIII experiment at the BEPCII e+e−e^+e^- collider. In this method, the doubly tagged ψ(3770)→D0D0‾\psi(3770) \to D^0 \overline{D^0} events, with one DD decays to CP-eigenstates and the other DD decays semileptonically, are used to reconstruct the signals. Since this analysis requires good e/πe/\pi separation, a likelihood approach, which combines the dE/dxdE/dx, time of flight and the electromagnetic shower detectors information, is used for particle identification. We estimate the sensitivity of the measurement of yy to be 0.007 based on a 20fb−120fb^{-1} fully simulated MC sample.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure
