EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON MATERIALS GRANULOMETRYUSING STATISTICAL ANALYSIS AND BOOTSTRAPPING

    Get PDF
Machinery and equipment used in conditioning the raw material and in grinding are of importance in obtaining superior quality products. Among these machines a vital role is played by the equipment used in the separating the impurities by aerodynamic matters and size. Given the exponential growth of the population and implicitly an increasing need for food, it is important that losses during the technological process should be as low as possible. The widespread use of biofuels (in the US 10% on the fuel market) will lead to a more dramatic decrease of losses during the process. In order to reduce the losses to the cleaning operation, the meshes of the sieves must be properly dimensioned/adjusted according to the size of the grains. We propose a statistical methodology to provide the necessary results

EVOLUTION OF MILK CATALASE ACTIVITY IN PRESENCE OF INHIBITOR AND ACTIVATOR SUBSTANCES

    Get PDF
Milk catalase activity were carried out to determine the effect of different activators and inhibitors on enzyme activity. The experiments where conducted to estimate the catalase activity from fresh milk, fresh milk in addition with trichloroacetic acid, fresh milk in addition with tannin, fresh milk during the pasteurization process, fresh milk in addition with iron, fresh milk in addition with vitamins. Iron, vitamins, high temperature influence positive milk catalase activity; tannin, trichloroacetic acid and pasteurization temperature influence negative milk catalase activit

COMPARATIVE STUDYON MILK COLD PASTEURIZATION USING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

    Get PDF
The study evaluates two methods of non-thermal milk pasteurization, namely cold pasteurization using hydrogen peroxide and hydrogen peroxide followed by its decomposition under the action of added catalase extract. These two methods seem to be effective, far less expensive than conventional ones, much more simplistic and do not cause significant changes in the chemical composition of milk, thus preserving its nutritional value.

Bioactivity of olive oil mill wastewater against grey mould disease

The antifungal activity of olive oil mill wastewater (olive OMW) was investigated. Filtered and sterilized olive OMW was tested as growth inhibitor of Botrytis cinerea mycelium in vitro. The effect of filtered and sterilized olive OMW was also tested on strawberries fruits infected with the Botrytis cinerea in vivo. The results show that the filtered sterilized olive OMW inhibits the growth of Botrytis cinerea mycelium in vivo confirming the antifungal activity probably due to presence of the phenols phenol content of olive OMW solution. © 2020
