Mobile reading habit in the digital era: a case study of Under Graduate Students, Tripura, India
Purpose: The study was carried out with an aim to understand the mobile reading behaviour among the millennials of the state of Tripura.
Methodology: The questionnaire having 35 questions was administered to 120 under graduate students of different departments from Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng and Ramakrishna Mahavidyalay. Out of 120 students, 82 have responded from Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng and the response rate is 68%. Out of 120 students, 80 have responded from Ramakrishna Mahavidyalay and the response rate is 66.66%.
Results: The study revealed that highest number of respondents from Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng belongs to Female 53 (64.63%) and from Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya belongs to male category 64 (80.00%). maximum respondents from both the colleges belong to rural area. Maximum respondents from both the colleges use phone for 1-3 and 3 -5 hours in a day. From Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng maximum respondents 67 (81.71%) use of phone for reading and Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya maximu respondents (68.75%) use of phone for reading. From Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng maximum respondents 45 (54.88%) read daily 30-60 minutes in their phone and Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya maximum respondents 35 (43.75%) are daily 30-60 minutes reading in their phone. Maximum respondents from both the colleges read news in their phones. Maximum respondents accepted the fact that they read more after they have become mobile readers. Maximum respondents look for word meanings in their phones, uses dictionary app and prefer English language for mobile reading. From Govt Degree College, Khumulwng 43.9% respondents are aware of E-book and from Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya respondents 76.25% are aware of E-book. From Govt. Degree College, Khumulwng 58.54% respondents have never used any E-book and from Ramkrishna Mahavidyalaya 65% respondents have never used any E-book followed by 35% used E-book. Maximum respondents from both the colleges want E- book services from their respected libraries.
Implications: The knowledge acquired through this study should contribute to better understanding of the phenomena of reading habits, mobile reading habits and attitude towards it in Tripura
Application of Bradford\u27s Law of Scattering and obsolescence in the Literature of Chemistry: A study based on doctoral theses
The proposed study tries to investigate citation pattern of Chemistry theses submitted to Central library Tripura University. The study considered only those theses submitted to Shodhganga, the Indian ETD initiative. Hence data were collected from 20 theses constituting 6214 citations during 2007 to 2016. Bardford’s law is used to find out the core journals in the field of Chemistry. The rank list of journals showed “Phytochemistry” is the most cited journal. The dataset of the study did not follow the Bradford’s law. However, the dataset follow the Leimkuhler’s model. Half life of Chemistry journals is found to be 12.6 years. The results revealed from the study will assist the researchers in the area of Chemistry in improved understanding the characteristics of the field; it will aid librarians in selection of documents and collection development of the library; it will help the policy makers in decision making
Citation Analysis of Doctoral Theses of Physics: A Bibliometrics Study
Citation analysis is one of the thrust areas of research in Library and Information Science. It provides very useful insights to librarians and policy makers in terms of which sources to be purchased and what to be replaced. The current study was carried out to understand different characteristics of Physics as a discipline by analysing the citations appended at the end of Doctoral theses of Physics, Tripura University. A total 5640 citations were analysed from 18 theses during the 10 years period of 2007 to 2016. Bradford’s law of scattering of periodical was tested as it did not fit in the particular dataset the appropriateness of Leimkuhler model was also evaluated with the dataset. Journal of Geophysical Research being published from USA is found to be ranked one in the list of core journals. American Chemical Society, USA was found to be the top cited Publisher. The study also disclosed that electronic and subscription based journals receives more citations
Citation analysis of Mathematics: a scientometric study based on PhD theses, Tripura University
Citation analysis of theses helps in evaluating research performance of departments and universities. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the theses available in Central library, Tripura University from the department of Mathematics. Theses available in the central library for the period of ten years from 2007 to 2016 constitute the sample as the university was converted to central university in 2007. The authorship pattern of the articles was measured with collaborative measures. Bradford law and Leimkuhler model were tested against the dataset. It was revealed that the journals are the most preferred type of documents having the share of 82.07%. Until 1950, single authored papers were dominating and in the recent decades the trend is seen to be shifting towards large group collaborations. The dataset did not fit well against Bradford’s law of scattering. However, we acknowledge the acceptability of modified Bradford’s distribution given by the Leimkuhler model. The results revealed should assist the researchers in the area of Mathematics in improved understanding the characteristics of the field
Scientometric profile of Tripura University based on selected disciplines: A study
Research productivity of Tripura which is one of the North East Indian states is not measured from a point of view of Scientometrics until now. It’s an untouched area of research. An attempt has been made in this study to understand and evaluate research productivity indexed in Web of Science database of selected disciplines from Tripura University as it is the only central university in the state. It is found that since beginning until 2019, 313 documents are indexed in the database from the broad research areas of Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. The study revealed that Bhattacharjee, D is the most productive author; Bhattacharjee, D and Hussain,S have co-authored 52 (15.95% ) articles and this pair stands on rank one; Bhattacharjee, D and Hussain, SA are found to have highest number of h index i.e. 12; Highest numbers of articles are published in Journal of the Indian Chemical Society. The maximum 0.16 RGR was recorded for the period 1994 to 1998 and maximum dt of 6.19 is recorded in 2014 to 2018 period

A Scientometrics analysis of Ovarian Cancer Research during 2010 to 2019: with special reference to South Asian contribution
A scientometrics analysis of ovarian cancer research during 2010 to 2019 is performed in this study. It is an attempt to find out the various scientometrics indicators such as: type of document wise distribution, authorship pattern, year wise publication, Co-occurrence of keyword. A total of 927 bibliographic records were collected from web of science database and as a data source it has been analyzed using MS excel and VOS viewer software. Kumar, S from University of Birmingham is found to be the most productive author. Multi - authorship is found to be dominant in this area of research. South Asia countries have been chosen as an area of the study and the countries that make up south Asia are Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Maldive

Authorship Collaboration and visualization on Detention Center Research: A Scientometric study
The present study examines the Authorship Collaboration and Visualization on Detention Center Research. In order to carry out the research, the related data were collected from “Web of Science” database. The data were analyzed and visualize using MS Excel and VOSviewer. The study covered the period from 1989 through the end of 2019. For this period, a total of 1311 records were published globally in the field of Detention Center research. The study also found that 95% of the literature in this area are scattered among English and other European languages. Holocausts, Trauma, Prevalence, Children, and Posttraumatic-stress-disorder are some of the keywords which is found to be associated with the discipline from the results
