CULTIVATING MEANINGFUL REALTIONSHIPS TO INCREASE FUNDRAISING EFFORTS FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

    Get PDF
The donor cultivation process is vital to a gift officer by creating meaningful relationship built on trust and dynamic conversations. Cultivating philanthropic funds for nonprofit organization is essential in advancing a mission and accomplishing the vision. To successfully solicit donor dollars, gift officers must focus on the art of developing and retaining personal relationships. A gift officer is the hands and feet to a nonprofit organization who leads people to understand, motivate, and agree to support a better quality of life for those most in need. The utilization of properly cultivated relationships and uniquely crafted engagements provides the precise development for successful fundraising. The utilization of the donor cultivation process is changing the culture of philanthropy and provides a platform for gift officers to utilize to achieve goals. The future success of nonprofit organizations of mission advancement is dependent on the ability of a gift officers’ strategic engagement with the community’s people. Gift officers promote philanthropy by following donor centered principles and practicing organizational values. Wavelet design by means of multi-objective GAs for motor imagery EEG analysis

Wavelet-based analysis has been broadly used in the study of brain-computer interfaces (BCI), but in most cases these wavelet functions have not been designed taking into account the requirements of this field. In this study we propose a method to automatically generate wavelet-like functions by means of genetic algorithms. Results strongly indicate that it is possible to generate (evolve) wavelet functions that improve the classification accuracy compared to other well-known wavelets (e.g. Daubechies and Coiflets)

Lifetime Measurement of the 8s Level in Francium

We measure the lifetime of the 8s level on a magneto-optically trapped sample of ^{210}Fr atoms with time-correlated single-photon counting. The 7P_{1/2} state serves as the resonant intermediate level for two-photon excitation of the 8s level completed with a 1300 nm laser. Analysis of the fluorescence decay through the the 7P_{3/2} level gives 53.30 +- 0.44 ns for the 8s level lifetime.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure

Digital filter implementation over FPGA platform with LINUX OS

    Get PDF
AbstractThe embedded processors on FPGA's are a good tool to specific propose works. In this work we present how the FPGA is used to apply a Sobel filter to a set of images, also the step needed to set-up the entire system is described. An embedded processor, with a Linux distribution implemented is used to run a special compilation of C filter program, the filter is compared with the results obtained with a PC running the same filter, in the embedded system all the process runs in the FPGA and the exit file can be accessed by ftp or http server embedded into the Linux system

Human-robot visual interface for 3D steering of a flexible, bioinspired needle for neurosurgery

Robotic minimally invasive surgery has been a subject of intense research and development over the last three decades, due to the clinical advantages it holds for patients and doctors alike. Particularly for drug delivery mechanisms, higher precision and the ability to follow complex trajectories in three dimensions (3D), has led to interest in flexible, steerable needles such as the programmable bevel-tip needle (PBN). Steering in 3D, however, holds practical challenges for surgeons, as interfaces are traditionally designed for straight line paths. This work presents a pilot study undertaken to evaluate a novel human-machine visual interface for the steering of a robotic PBN, where both qualitative evaluation of the interface and quantitative evaluation of the performance of the subjects in following a 3D path are measured. A series of needle insertions are performed in phantom tissue (gelatin) by the experiment subjects. User could adequately use the system with little training and low workload, and reach the target point at the end of the path with millimeter range accuracy
