Strange-Beauty Meson Production at Colliders
The production rates and transverse momentum distributions of the
strange-beauty mesons and at colliders are calculated
assuming fragmentation is the dominant process. Results are given for the
Tevatron in the large transverse momentum region, where fragmentation is
expected to be most important.Comment: Minor changes in the discussion section. Also available at

Search for the intermediate Mass Higgs Signal at TeV colliders
The intermediate mass Higgs (IMH) can be abundantly produced through the
process at TeV colliders, which are
realized by the laser back-scattering method. We search for the signature of
plus missing transverse momentum, with and
without considering the -tagging. We also analyse all the potential
backgrounds from and . With our selective acceptance cuts these backgrounds
are reduced to a manageable level. We find that for the entire intermediate
mass range 60 -- 150~GeV the Higgs discovery should be viable. We also present
detail formulas for the helicity amplitudes of these processes.Comment: Latex(Revtex), 30 pages, 8 figures in postscript format (uuencoded),

Persistent currents in diffusive metallic cavities: Large values and anomalous scaling with disorder
The effect of disorder on confined metallic cavities with an Aharonov-Bohm
flux line is addressed. We find that, even deep in the diffusive regime, large
values of persistent currents may arise for a wide variety of geometries. We
present numerical results supporting an anomalous scaling law of the average
typical current with the strength of disorder , with . This is contrasted with previously
reported results obtained for cylindrical samples where a scaling has been found. Possible links to, up to date, unexplained
experimental data are finally discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 4 figure
The Boson Loop Background to H -> ZZ at Photon-photon Colliders
We have performed a complete one-loop calculation of in the Standard Model, including both gauge bosons and fermions
in the loop. We confirm the large irreducible continuum background from the
-boson loop found by Jikia. We have included the photon-photon luminosity,
and find that the continuum background of transverse boson pairs prohibits
finding a heavy Higgs with mass \gtap 350 GeV in this decay mode.Comment: 16 pages + 4 PS figures included (uuencoded), MAD/PH/77
Higgs production in association with top quark pair at e+e- colliders in theories of higher dimensional gravity
The models of large extra compact dimensions, as suggested by Arkani-Hamed,
Dimopoulos and Dvali, predict exciting phenomenological consequences with
gravitational interactions becoming strong at the TeV scale. Such theories can
be tested at the existing and future colliders. In this paper, we study the
contribution of virtual Kaluza-Klein excitations in the process at future linear collider (NLC). We find that the virtual exchange
KK gravitons can modify the cross-section
significantly from its Standard Model value and will allow the effective string
scale to be probed up to 7.9 TeV.Comment: 10 pages, Latex, 4 postscript figure
Perturbative QCD Fragmentation Functions for Production of P-wave Mesons with Charm and Beauty
We calculate the leading order QCD fragmentation functions for the production
of -wave charmed beauty mesons. Long-distance effects are factored into two
nonperturbative parameters: the derivative of the radial wavefunction at the
origin and a second parameter related to the probability for a
heavy quark pair that is produced in a color-octet -wave state to form a
color-singlet -wave bound state. The four states and those states
which lie below the flavor threshold eventually all decay into the
ground state through hadronic cascades or by emitting photons. The total
fragmentation probabilities for production of the ground state from
the cascades of the and states are about and
respectively. Thus the direct production of the -wave
states via fragmentation may account for a significant fraction of the
inclusive production rate of the at large transverse momentum in high
energy colliders. Our analytic results for the -wave fragmentation functions
disagree with those obtained earlier in the literature.Comment: 31 pages, Latex file, 1 figure (postscript file appended at the end
Dijet Production at Hadron Colliders in Theories with Large Extra Dimensions
We consider the production of high invariant mass jet pairs at hadron
colliders as a test for TeV scale gravitational effects. We find that this
signal can probe effective Planck masses of about 10 TeV at the LHC with center
of mass energy of 14 TeV and 1.5 TeV at the Tevatron with center of mass energy
of 2 TeV. These results are compared to analogous scattering processes at
leptonic colliders.Comment: 15 pages with 3 figure
