Mechanisms for heat generation during deuterium and hydrogen loading of palladium nanostructures,
Abstract Our group has confirmed excess heat production and isotope effects in alumina and zeolite powders containing highly dispersed Pd nanoparticles. Varying the pressures and loading rates produced correlations between the exothermic and endothermic aspects of the experiments. It was shown that the generated power is proportional to the pressurization rate times a quantity , which is the energy content of what we called "fuel". There are two types of fuels, both of which can trigger the reaction that can be either exothermic or endothermic depending on the gas used in the experiment (deuterium or hydrogen). Observed heat generation during the pressurization phase is most likely of a chemical nature
Efficacy of immune correcting therapy at varicose vein disease of pelvis minor in women
In the article the complex therapy of varicose vein disease of pelvis minor in women is suggested; it includes phlebotropic, metabolic and immunotropic drugs. Indicated scheme of treatment lead to improvement of hemodynamic parameters of venous system of pelvis minor. Positive changes of parameters of cytokine, cellular and humoral units of immune system are evidence for decrease of inflammatory response of venous vascular wall
Immune response and cytokine status at varicose vein disease of pelvis minor in women
The article describes participation of immune system in pathogenesis of varicose vein of pelvis minor. The study revealed elevation of proinflammatory cytokines, discovered disturbances in cellular and humoral units of immunity. Indicated changes are evidence for inflammatory character of changes in venous vascular wall, causing its destruction and varicose dilatation
ASSESSMENT OF THE RESOURCE POTENTIAL OF THE BITTER - SALTY SULFIDE LAKES OF THE NORTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECOLOGICAL AND BALNEOLOGICAL TOURISM
To consider the resource potential of bitter-salty sulfide lakes for the development of ecological and balneological
tourism in the territory of the North Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Field studies, a sociological survey
were conducted, methods of statistical and mathematical processing were used. The cartographic method made it possible to
visualize the studied material. Bitter-salty lakes contain sulfide mud, which is a unique natural resource. Mud can be used in
combination with salt water to create the foundations of ecological and health tourism in the North Kazakhstan region.
Research has revealed the most promising lakes of the region. The analysis of the obtained field research data and
cartographic material made it possible to assess the resource potential of the lakes. These data were confirmed by the results
of a sociological survey, which confirms the possibility of developing the tourism industry on the basis of unique local bitt ersalty lakes. The cartographic material created in the course of the study visually demonstrates the prospects and possible
problems of the development of the health tourism industry in the territory of the studied region. The resources of bitter-salty
sulfide lakes have sufficient potential for the development of tourism in the North Kazakhstan region. The bitter-salty lakes of
the North Kazakhstan region selected on the basis of a comprehensive score have criteria confirming their resource potential.
This assessment shows the possibility of developing health and ecological tourism in the region. The border position of the
region makes it possible to develop not only internal, but also external tourism
A Massive Open Online Course on Particle Accelerators
International audienceThe TIARA (Test Infrastructure and Accelerator Research Area) project funded by the European Union 7th framework programme made a survey of provision of education and training in accelerator science in Europe. This survey highlighted the need for more training opportunities targeting undergraduate-level students. This need is now being addressed by the European Union H2020 project ARIES (Accelerator Research and Innovation for European Science and Society) via the preparation of a Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on particle accelerator science and engineering. We present here the current status of this project, the main elements of the syllabus, how it will be delivered, and the schedule for providing the course
Remote monitoring of sea surface HFSWR
The paper considers an excellent electrodynamics model of an excited sea surface when it is interpreted by spectral components of the backscattered HF signal for remotely monitored targets. A peculiarity of the application of the electrodynamics model is supposing that the excited sea surface section is a quasi-periodic random antenna array with elementary resonators
