Ninth International Conference on Urban Transport and the Environment for the 21st Century, URBAN TRANSPORT IX; Crete; Greece; 10 March 2003 through 12 March 2003In the previous study called "A Modelling Approach for the Transportation Disadvantaged", which was an experimental one calibrated in a small town in Turkey, it was observed that an integrated TPM for the disadvantaged category was probable, and the findings were observable at all stages of the sequential modelling, however, with slight differences compared to the Normal model's results. Following the previous one, this study shows the method of how "policy capturing" could be possible on the basis of these differences, which aims to help improve the adverse conditions of the disadvantaged. The method is sort of category analysis based on the cluster analysis results, since it is clearly verified that the "disadvantage indices" identified as the single-disadvantage groups match with the values of cluster centres. Using TRANUS software, three simulations are run for three dimensions of disadvantage: socio-economic (categorical), spatial and the positional. The simulation results, evaluated from different criteria, showed that socio-economic dimension was the most fruitful area for policy capturing

The effects of major transportation projects on urban trends in Izmir were analyzed using the Delphi method. Once convergence was maintained in expert opinions, the Delphi results were re-evaluated according to the suggested method of total evaluation for obtaining much concise and general results. Accordingly, Absolute Total Impacts (ATI), Net Total Impacts (NTI) and the impact levels in broader terms were defined. The most effective projects were found to be: Integrated Rail Transportation System, Enhancement of Existing İzmir Port. The most impacted trends were: Development in Tourism Sector, Economic Development, Air Pollution and the Ratio of Private Car Ownership

The effects of major transportation projects on the urban trends in İzmir were analyzed using the Delphi method. Purpose: After the emergence of the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, vaccination with various vaccines has started to be implemented across the world. To identify dermatological reactions developing after the COVID-19 vaccines administered in Turkey and determine their clinical features and risk factors that may play a role in their development. Materials and Methods: The study included patients aged ≥18 years, who presented to 13 different dermatology clinics in Turkey between July 2021 and September 2021 after developing dermatological reactions following the administration of the COVID-19 vaccine. After providing written consent, the patients were asked to complete a standard survey including questions related to age, gender, occupation, comorbidities, the regular medication used, the onset of cutaneous reactions after vaccination, and localization of reactions. Dermatological reactions were categorized according to whether they developed after the first or second dose of the vaccine or whether they occurred after the inactivated or messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine. The relationship between dermatological reactions and some variables such as gender and comorbidities was also evaluated. Results: A total of 269 patients [116 women (43.1%), 153 men (56.9%)] were included in the study. It was observed that the dermatological diseases and reactions that most frequently developed after vaccination were urticaria (25.7%), herpes zoster (24.9%), maculopapular eruption (12.3%), and pityriasis rosea (4.5%). The rate of dermatological reactions was 60.6% after the administration of the mRNA vaccine and 39.4% after that of the inactivated vaccine. There was a statistically significantly higher number of reactions among the patients that received the mRNA vaccine (p = 0.001). Conclusion: The most common reactions in our sample were urticaria, herpes zoster, and maculopapular eruption. Physicians should know the dermatological side effects of COVID-19 vaccines and their clinical features

The aim of this study is to identify the attitudes of first year students towards teaching profession of Teacher Department of Sakarya University Education Faculty and to examine their attitudes towards teaching profession with respect to certain variables. The subject of this study was the first year students of Teacher Department of Sakarya University Education Faculty in 2008-2009 academic year. During the study, the data were collected through “Attitudes Towards Teaching Profession Inventory” developed by Çetin (2006). For the analysis of the data SPSS for Windows program was used and the mean scores of each item in the scale was calculated t-test and Anova was used by the researchers. The analysis of the data indicated that the attitudes of studemts towards teaching profession was positive, with respect to their gender, a significant difference was found in favour of female students, with respect to the department, significant difference was found between the students
