Analysis of Political Party Twitter Accounts' Retweeters During Japan's 2017 Election
In modern election campaigns, political parties utilize social media to
advertise their policies and candidates and to communicate to the electorate.
In Japan's latest general election in 2017, the 48th general election for the
Lower House, social media, especially Twitter, was actively used. In this
paper, we analyze the users who retweeted tweets of political parties on
Twitter during the election. Our aim is to clarify what kinds of users are
diffusing (retweeting) tweets of political parties. The results indicate that
the characteristics of retweeters of the largest ruling party (Liberal
Democratic Party of Japan) and the largest opposition party (The Constitutional
Democratic Party of Japan) were similar, even though the retweeters did not
overlap each other. We also found that a particular opposition party (Japanese
Communist Party) had quite different characteristics from other political

STRATIGRAPHIC CHANGE OF THE COARSE CLASTIC ROCKS OF THE SHIMANTO SUPERGROUP IN EASTERN, SHIKOKU, SOUTHWEST JAPAN
The Shimanto Supergroup of geosynclinal facies which ranges from Cretaceous to early Tertiary in age, is widely distributed in the outermost zone of Southwest Japan. Coeval volcanic and plutonic rocks are extensively distributed in the Inner Zone. The coarse clastic rocks mainly of sandstone occupy about a half of the Shimanto Supergroup, and a stratigraphic change of sandstone and conglomerate composition is recognized in the supergroup. The amount of rock fragments, chiefly acidic to intermediate volcanic rocks, increases upward throughout the Cretaceous sequence. Additionally, acidic tuff layers are frequently intercalated in the Late Cretaceous sequence. Conglomerates in the Late Cretaceous are very dominated by acidic volcanic rock clasts. The geosynclinal sedimentation of the Cretaceous Shimanto Supergroup proceeded with the coeval volcanism which became more active in the Late Cretaceous. The clastic sediments were supplied mainly from the sites of the volcanism. The volcanism corresponds to the Cretaceous volcanic activity in the Inner Zone of Southwest Japan. Detection of nonmagnetic metal thin film using magnetic force microscopy
Magnetic force microscopy (MFM) allows detection of stray magnetic fields
around magnetic materials and the two-dimensional visualization of these
fields. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of the oscillations of an
MFM tip above a thin film of nonmagnetic metal. The results show good agreement
with experimental data obtained by varying the tip height. The phenomenon
analyzed here can be applied as a "metal detector" at the nanometer scale and
for contactless measurement of sheet resistivity. The detection sensitivity is
obtained as a function of oscillation frequency, thus allowing determination of
the best frequency for phase-shift measurement. The shift in resonance
frequency due to the presence of a nonmagnetic metal is also discussed.Comment: 4 pages, 5 figure
