    No full text
This study explored student understanding of third places at the University of the Pacific. As colleges and universities seek to develop the whole student, providing students places that develop a sense ofbelongingness will contribute to their social development. Research has also shown that providing this belongingness will improve student learning. The questions this study hopes to answer are how do students use spaces on campus, and how do these spaces affect student satisfaction and involvement with the University. The results provided by students showed connections between student responses and the literature researched for the study. It is the writer\u27s hope the findings of the study will help to guide future decisions regarding space planning and development
