Dinamika značajnog broja industrijskih procesa zahtijeva upravljanje u realnom vremenu. This work presents a test system that consists of Beaglebone Black platform and real-time operating system Xenomai/Linux. Main objective was to analyze the possible applications on the real-time control problems. The dynamics of a major group of industrial processes demands a real-time control system. Real-time control uses dedicated forms of control algorithm implementation, with dedicated hardware components and software support. The ongoing development of the embedded systems opens a wide horizon for the applications of development boards like Beaglebone Black. This work presents a test system with a suitable analysis of the possible applications in the field of real-time control. The conclusion that can be drawn from the tests made is that the described test system can achieve high levels of efficiency, when it comes to the time demands on the control system response. Classical PID regulator implemented in C programming language under Xenomi/Linux structure was used as a test control algorithm

The most problematic symptoms of prion disease - an analysis of carer experiences
Objectives:
Prion diseases are rare dementias that most commonly occur sporadically, but can be inherited or acquired, and for which there is no cure. We sought to understand which prion disease symptoms are most problematic for carers, to inform the development of outcome measures.
Design:
Self-completed questionnaire with follow-up of a subset of participants by structured interview.
Setting:
A nested study in the UK National Prion Monitoring Cohort, a longitudinal observational study.
Participants and measurements:
71 carers, of people with different prion diseases with a wide range of disease severity, identified 236 of their four most problematic symptoms by questionnaire which were grouped into ten domains. Structured interviews were then done to qualitatively explore these experiences. Eleven family carers of people with prion disease were selected, including those representative of a range of demographics and disease subtypes and those who cared for people with prion disease, living or recently deceased. Interviews were transcribed and formally studied.
Results:
The six most problematic symptom domains were: mobility and coordination; mood and behavior; personal care and continence; eating and swallowing; communication; and cognition and memory. The prevalence of these symptoms varied significantly by disease stage and type. A formal analysis of structured interviews to explore these domains is reported.
Conclusions:
We make suggestions about how healthcare professionals can focus their support for people with prion disease. Clinical trials that aim to generate evidence regarding therapies that might confer meaningful benefits to carers should consider including outcome measures that monitor the symptomatic domains we have identified as problematic
ERC Re-Certification Training

Topics covered: recent updates to the LPA Guidance Document, Change Orders, and Utility Coordination. This course satisfies ERC requirements for one year following completion
Elementary English Acquisition
From the beginning of chapter one in Learning English at School, the author, Colleen Toohey, emphasizes that social interactions have a pivotal role in young children\u27s second language learning. She begins by analyzing the data of several theorists and researchers, such as Snow, Vygotsky, and Bakhtin, she had reviewed to develop the theory and methodology for her study. Toohey does a nice job relating her own experiences and observations to the presented theories
Pollen metabarcoding reveals broad and species-specific resource use by urban bees
Bee populations are currently undergoing severe global declines driven by the interactive effects of a number of factors. Ongoing urbanisation has the potential to exacerbate bee declines, unless steps are taken to ensure appropriate floral resources are available. Sown wildflower strips are one way in which floral resources can be provided to urban bees. However, the use of these strips by pollinators in urban environments remains little studied. Here, we employ pollen metabarcoding of the rbcL gene to compare the foraging patterns of different bee species observed using urban sown wildflower strips in July 2016, with a goal of identifying which plant species are most important for bees. We also demonstrate the use of a non-destructive method of pollen collection. Bees were found to forage on a wide variety of plant genera and families, including a diverse range of plants from outside the wildflower plots, suggesting that foragers visiting sown wildflower strips also utilize other urban habitats. Particular plants within the wildflower strips dominated metabarcoding data, particularly Papaver rhoeas and Phacelia tanacetifolia. Overall, we demonstrate that pollinators observed in sown wildflower strips use certain sown foodplants as part of a larger urban matrix
HPV genotypes and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia in a multiethnic cohort in the southeastern USA
PURPOSE: For poorly understood reasons, invasive cervical cancer (ICC) incidence and mortality rates are higher in women of African descent. Oncogenic human papillomavirus (HPV) genotypes distribution may vary between European American (EA) and African-American (AA) women and may contribute to differences in ICC incidence. The current study aimed at disentangling differences in HPV distribution among AA and EA women. METHODS: Five-hundred and seventy-two women were enrolled at the time of colposcopic evaluation following an abnormal liquid-based cytology screen. HPV infections were detected using HPV linear array, and chi-squared tests and linear regression models were used to compare HPV genotypes across racial/ethnic groups by CIN status. RESULTS: Of the 572 participants, 494 (86 %) had detectable HPV; 245 (43 %) had no CIN lesion, 239 (42 %) had CIN1, and 88 (15 %) had CIN2/3. Seventy-three percent of all women were infected with multiple HPV genotypes. After adjusting for race, age, parity, income, oral contraception use, and current smoking, AAs were two times less likely to harbor HPV 16/18 (OR 0.48, 95 % CI 0.21–0.94, p = 0.03) when all women were considered. This association remained unchanged when only women with CIN2/3 lesions were examined (OR 0.22, 95 % CI 0.05–0.95, p = 0.04). The most frequent high-risk HPV genotypes detected among EAs were 16, 18, 56, 39, and 66, while HPV genotypes 33, 35, 45, 58, and 68 were the most frequent ones detected in AAs. CONCLUSIONS: Our data suggest that while HPV 16/18 are the most common genotypes among EA women with CIN, AAs may harbor different genotypes
