    There are two parts to this thesis. In Part I, several compounds containing two 1,4-dihydronicotin-amide moieties (e.g. bis-o-xylylene-3-carbamoyl-1,4-di-hydronicotinamide) have been synthesized. In addition, a number of compounds containing only one 1,4-dihydronicotin-amide moiety were sysnthesized.
