Percepciones del estudiantado universitario de Pedagogía sobre la discapacidad e inclusión educativa en Honduras

The objective of this article is to analyze the perceptions of Pedagogy and Education Science students about the educational inclusion of university students with disabilities. A qualitative study was conducted under a descriptive phenomenological design using semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that disability is still considered from a medical-deficit paradigm. On the other hand, the students interviewed expressed a positive attitude towards their classmates with disabilities. However, the deficient infrastructure and the lack of teacher training in this area are the main barriers that, according to the participants, are faced by students with disabilities. Discussions point to the need to implement mechanisms that make it possible to eradicate exclusion, segregation and discrimination in Honduran higher education. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar las percepciones de estudiantes de Pedagogía y Ciencias de la Educación sobre la inclusión educativa de universitarios en situación de discapacidad. Se realizó un estudio cualitativo bajo un diseño descriptivo fenomenológico haciendo uso de entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados indican que la discapacidad sigue considerándose desde un paradigma médico-deficitario. Por otro lado, el alumnado entrevistado ha expresado demostrar una actitud positiva ante sus compañeros en tal condición. Sin embargo, la deficiente infraestructura y la falta de formación del profesorado en dicha materia son las principales barreras que según los participantes enfrenta el estudiantado en situación de discapacidad.
