Relation between the X-ray and Optical Luminosities in Binary Systems with Accreting Nonmagnetic White Dwarfs
We investigate the relation between the optical (g-band) and X-ray (0.5-10
keV) luminosities of accreting nonmagnetic white dwarfs. According to the
present-day counts of the populations of star systems in our Galaxy, these
systems have the highest space density among the close binary systems with
white dwarfs. We show that the dependence of the optical luminosity of
accreting white dwarfs on their X-ray luminosity forms a fairly narrow
one-parameter curve. The typical half-width of this curve does not exceed
0.2-0.3 dex in optical and X-ray luminosities, which is essentially consistent
with the amplitude of the aperiodic flux variability for these objects. At
X-ray luminosities Lx~1e32 erg/sec or lower, the optical g-band luminosity of
the accretion flow is shown to be related to its X-ray luminosity by a factor
~2-3. At even lower X-ray luminosities (Lx~1e30 erg/sec), the contribution from
the photosphere of the white dwarf begins to dominate in the optical spectrum
of the binary system and its optical brightness does not drop below Mg~13-14.
Using the latter fact, we show that in current and planned X-ray sky surveys,
the family of accreting nonmagnetic white dwarfs can be completely identified
to the distance determined by the sensitivity of an optical sky survey in this
region. For the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) with a limiting sensitivity
m_g~22.5, this distance is ~400-600 pcComment: 7 pages, 3 figures, published in Astronomy Letter

Generating Abstractive Summaries from Meeting Transcripts
Summaries of meetings are very important as they convey the essential content
of discussions in a concise form. Generally, it is time consuming to read and
understand the whole documents. Therefore, summaries play an important role as
the readers are interested in only the important context of discussions. In
this work, we address the task of meeting document summarization. Automatic
summarization systems on meeting conversations developed so far have been
primarily extractive, resulting in unacceptable summaries that are hard to
read. The extracted utterances contain disfluencies that affect the quality of
the extractive summaries. To make summaries much more readable, we propose an
approach to generating abstractive summaries by fusing important content from
several utterances. We first separate meeting transcripts into various topic
segments, and then identify the important utterances in each segment using a
supervised learning approach. The important utterances are then combined
together to generate a one-sentence summary. In the text generation step, the
dependency parses of the utterances in each segment are combined together to
create a directed graph. The most informative and well-formed sub-graph
obtained by integer linear programming (ILP) is selected to generate a
one-sentence summary for each topic segment. The ILP formulation reduces
disfluencies by leveraging grammatical relations that are more prominent in
non-conversational style of text, and therefore generates summaries that is
comparable to human-written abstractive summaries. Experimental results show
that our method can generate more informative summaries than the baselines. In
addition, readability assessments by human judges as well as log-likelihood
estimates obtained from the dependency parser show that our generated summaries
are significantly readable and well-formed.Comment: 10 pages, Proceedings of the 2015 ACM Symposium on Document

Pancreatogenic infections: importance of microbiological monitoring and penetration of antimicrobial chemotherapeutic agents into the pancreas when defining therapeutic approach
The review provides the information on the spectrum of microorganisms initiating the development of clinical and morphological forms of pancreatogenic infections. It is shown that when analyzing pathological conditions, no features in the microbiological landscape of the secondary infection in the pancreas and the surrounding extraperitoneal cellular tissue are registere

With the advent of mass fashion in the middle of the 20th century, studies aimed at forecasting trends began to be conducted, which contributed to the design of a commercial fashion product. Today, the fashion industry itself should be an object of study, as it refl ects the most important socio-cultural trends and problems of society
Estimates of Reachable Sets of Control Systems with BilinearβQuadratic Nonlinearities
The problem of estimating reachable sets of nonlinear impulsive control systems with quadratic nonlinearity and with uncertainty in initial states and in the matrix of system is studied. The problem is studied under uncertainty conditions with set β membership description of uncertain variables, which are taken to be unknown but bounded with given bounds. We study the case when the system nonlinearity is generated by the combination of two types of functions in related differential equations, one of which is bilinear and the other one is quadratic. The problem may be reformulated as the problem of describing the motion of set-valued states in the state space under nonlinear dynamics with state velocities having bilinear-quadratic kind. Basing on the techniques of approximation of the generalized trajectory tubes by the solutions of control systems without measure terms and using the techniques of ellipsoidal calculus we present here a state estimation algorithms for the studied nonlinear impulsive control problem bilinear-quadratic type. The research was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Researches (RFBR) under Project 15-01-02368a, by the Project "Positional Differential Games, Hamilton-Jacobi Equationsand Applications" in the framework of the Research Program "Mathematical Problems of Modern Control Theory" of the Presidium of Russian Academy of Sciences and by the Program "StateSupport of the Leading Scientific School" (NS-2692.2014.1)
