Aplikasi Navigasi Berbasis Perangkat Bergerak dengan Menggunakan Platform Wikitude untuk Studi Kasus Lingkungan ITS
Bagi setiap orang yang baru mengunjungi ITS, sebagian besar akan kesulitan mencari tempat yang ada di ITS. Dengan bantuan rambu-rambu yang ada di ITS dan aplikasi maps yang sekarang ada, masih belum menyelesaikan permasalahan. Oleh karena itu, perlu dibuat sebuah aplikasi yang lebih dapat membantu pengunjung untuk menemukan tempat di ITS. Salah satu teknologi yang sedang berkembang saat ini adalah teknologi augmented reality. Augmented reality merupakan teknologi di mana memungkinkan pengguna untuk berinteraksi dengan objek dunia maya yang diproyeksikan pada dunia nyata. Aplikasi yang akan dibangun dapat menunjukkan rute dan tempat yang akan dituju dalam tampilan augmented reality. Google Maps API digunakan untuk mencari rute terdekat antar dua tempat. Untuk mengembangkan tampilan augmented reality, digunakan Wikitude Android SDK. Hasil pengujian aplikasi menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat menampilkan navigasi dengan tampilan augmented reality sehingga penanda bantu navigasi seakan-akan ada di dunia nyata. Dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa aplikasi ini dapat lebih membantu pengguna dalam menemukan tempat yang ingin dituju
Studi Pola Transpor Sedimen Di Perairan Pelabuhan Tanjung Adikarta Pantai Gelagah, YOGYAKARTA
Perairan Pantai Gelagah, Yogyakarta mempunyai potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi pelabuhan perikanan, lokasi tersebut didukung oleh aksestabilitas yang mudah serta ketersediaan lahan yang cukup luas. Salah satu permasalahan dalam pembangunan dan pengembangan pelabuhan di Perairan Pantai Gelagah adalah adanya sedimentasi yang tinggi di lokasi tersebut. Pengambilan data lapangan dilakukan pada tanggal 22 – 24 Februari 2012 di Perairan Pantai Gelagah serta proses simulasi model dilakukan di Laboratorium Komputasi Balai Pengkajian Dinamika Pantai (BPDP) Yogyakarta pada bulan Agustus – Oktober 2012. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan pola transpor sedimen serta mengetahui daerah yang berpotensi terjadi sedimentasi di Perairan Pelabuhan Tanjung Adikarta, Gelagah. Data yang diperoleh diolah menggunakan perangkat lunak DHI Mike 21 yang dapat mensimulasikan pola transpor sedimen serta menggambarkan kondisi hidro oseanografi yang berpengaruh terhadap transpor sedimen yaitu arus dan gelombang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa pola transpor sedimen di Perairan Pelabuhan Tanjung Adikarta terdistribusi dari Sungai Sarang sampai mulut pelabuhan dengan sumber utama sedimen berasal dari Sungai Sarang, sedangkan daerah yang berpotensi terjadi sedimentasi yaitu mulut pelabuhan sebelah barat dengan laju sedimentasi berkisar antara 10 – 30 m3/th/m. Kolam pelabuhan relatif aman dan tidak berpotensi terjadi sedimentasi atau pendangkalan karena terlindung dari pengaruh arus dan gelombang yang merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi transpor sedimen

The Effect of various Sterilization Procedure on Number of Colony-Forming units of isolated endophytic bacteria from Cosmos caudatus Kunth. leaf
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of different concentration and time sterilization on the number of colony-forming units of isolated endophytic bacteria from Cosmos caudatus kunth. leaf. The sterilizing agents were used is sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). The research consisted of four treatments P1 (NaOCl 5.35%; 3 minutes), P2 (NaOCl 5.35%; 1,5 minutes), P3 (NaOCl 3%; 3 minutes), and P4 (NaOCl 3%; 1,5 minutes). Every treatments have one control medium and three repetition. The control medium treated by make streak using C. caudatus leaf that had sterilized and the three repetition treated by inoculating 100 µL suspension of C. caudatus leaf with 10-1 serial dilution. Result on the control medium is sterile and indicated that the bacteria in treatments medium is endophytic bacteria. The CFU in treatments P1 (0x102 CFU/ml), P2 (2,9 X 103 CFU/ml), P3 (2,9 X 103 CFU/ml), and P4 (2,8 X 103 CFU/ml). The conclusion from this study is there was no significantly different of different concentration and time sterilization on the number of colony-forming units of isolated endophytic bacteria from Cosmos caudatus kunth. The Effect of Lego Mindstorms as an Innovative Educational Tool to Develop Students' Creativity Skills for a Creative Society
Creativity is a very important skill that should be possessed by the human resources of a country, especially in this period of the 21st century. Human creativity must be stimulated from various things, including via the field of education to improve the quality of human resources. The goal of this study was to investigate the impact of Lego Mindstorms as learning tools to improve the creativity skills of students, using an experimental methodology. We used a random sampling technique to select 40 students as the sample (N=40) for the study, with age ranging 10-12 years old; the sample was divided 2 groups, 20 students were assigned to the control groups, while the other 20 students formed the experimental groups. The student's creativity skills were taken from a figural creativity test (TKF). This test was conducted before the intervention (pretest) and after the intervention program (posttest). In the intervention program, the experimental group students were given some education about robotic technology via the use of the Lego Mindstorms tools. To analyze the test results, we utilized the Statistical Product and Service Solutions package. The finding showed that there are significant differences between the creativity scores of students in the experimental group and the creativity scores of the control group. The Lego Mindstorms influences the enhancement of student's creativity of around 23.6% in the experimental groups
Improving the Modelling of Robot Bunker with Camera
This study proposed an improvement on the model of robot bunker with camera. This is designed in order that robot is difficult to steal. The previous model is equipped with a security system. However, the system is not equipped with a camera so that when theft occurs, the action cannot be recorded. This study used 16 rules, because of the addition of variable pixels produced by the camera. The simulation is carried out as many as 30 (thirty) possible conditions of actions taken by the people on the robot with Matlab Fuzzy Toolbox. In the result of the simulations, the test results can change from safe conditions to alert or dangerous conditions. This is caused by changes in the number of pixels. The pixel value increases when someone tries to take a robot from the robot bunker. Thus the proposed model is more sensitive in detecting changes that occur around the robot bunker. Therefore this model can be applied in securing/protecting robot from theft
Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of some quinoxaline derivatives
Some new structural motifs containing the quinoxaline nucleus have been synthesized and examined for their pharmacological properties. In this study, 6-chloroquinoxaline-2,3(1H, 4H)-dione and 6 nitroquinoxaline-2,3(1H, 4H)-dione were synthesized as basic nuclei for the preparation of the new quinoxaline-2,3-diones by alkylation reactions under the conditions of phase transfer catalysis. The products were characterized by spectroscopic methods 1H and 13C NMR. Then, the synthesized products were tested for their antibacterial effects against two bacterial strains. The values of minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) vary according to the nature of the alkyl bonded to the quinoxaline nucleus
Two highly divergent alcohol dehydrogenases of melon exhibit fruit ripening-specific expression and distinct biochemical characteristics
Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH) participate in
the biosynthetic pathway of aroma volatiles in fruit by
interconverting aldehydes to alcohols and providing substrates
for the formation of esters. Two highly divergent
ADH genes (15% identity at the amino acid level) of
Cantaloupe Charentais melon (Cucumis melo var. Cantalupensis)
have been isolated. Cm-ADH1 belongs to the
medium-chain zinc-binding type of ADHs and is highly
similar to all ADH genes expressed in fruit isolated so far.
Cm-ADH2 belongs to the short-chain type of ADHs. The
two encoded proteins are enzymatically active upon
expression in yeast. Cm-ADH1 has strong preference for
NAPDH as a co-factor, whereas Cm-ADH2 preferentially
uses NADH. Both Cm-ADH proteins are much more active
as reductases with Kms 10–20 times lower for the conversion
of aldehydes to alcohols than for the dehydrogenation
of alcohols to aldehydes. They both show strong preference
for aliphatic aldehydes but Cm-ADH1 is capable of
reducing branched aldehydes such as 3-methylbutyraldehyde,
whereas Cm-ADH2 cannot. Both Cm-ADH genes are
expressed specifically in fruit and up-regulated during
ripening. Gene expression as well as total ADH activity are
strongly inhibited in antisense ACC oxidase melons and in
melon fruit treated with the ethylene antagonist 1-methylcyclopropene
(1-MCP), indicating a positive regulation by
ethylene. These data suggest that each of the Cm-ADH
protein plays a specific role in the regulation of aroma
biosynthesis in melon fruit
