    In a search for lead-free materials that could be used as alternatives to the hybrid perovskites, (MA)PbX3, in photovoltaic applications, we have discovered a hybrid double perovskite, (MA)2KBiCl6, which shows strong similarities to the lead analogues. Spectroscopic measurements and nanoindentation studies are combined with density functional calculations to reveal the properties of this interesting system

    State‑of‑the‑art review and bibliometric analysis on electro‑Fenton process

    The electro-Fenton (EF) process was first proposed in 1996 and, since then, considerable development has been achieved for its application in wastewater treatment, especially at lab and pilot scale. After more than 25 years, the high efficiency, versatility and environmental compatibility of EF process has been demonstrated. In this review, bibliometrics has been adopted as a tool that allows quantifying the development of EF as well as introducing some useful correlations. As a result, information is summarized in a more visual manner that can be easily analyzed and interpreted as compared to conventional reviewing. During the recent decades under review, 83 countries have contributed to the dramatic growth of EF publications, with China, Spain and France leading the publication output. The top 12 most cited articles, along with the top 32 most productive authors in the EF field, have been screened. Four stages have been identified as main descriptors of the development of EF throughout these years, being each stage characterized by relevant breakthroughs. To conclude, a general cognitive model for the EF process is proposed, including atomic, microscopic and macroscopic views, and future perspectives are discussed

    With the further development and wide application of wireless technology in 6G, people are increasingly inseparable from wireless devices, from the ground to the air. The power consumption and service life of devices have become an urgent problem to be solved. In this paper, the energy harvesting relaying system based on the power splitting method with unidirectional DF half-duplex and full-duplex relay is proposed. The relay node is powered by itself through energy harvesting. Specifically, we analyze the system capacity, and the formula of system outage probability is also obtained. Simulation results show the performance of the half-duplex and full-duplex system. With a smaller power splitting factor, more energy is harvested, the outage probability is lower, and the capacity is higher

    Joint Power and Subchannel Allocation for Distributed Storage in Cellular-D2D Underlays

    Wireless distributed storage is beneficial in the provision of reliable content storage and offloading of cellular traffic. In this paper, we consider a cellular device-to-device (D2D) underlay-based wireless distributed storage system, in which the minimum storage regenerating (MSR) coding combined with the partial downloading scheme is employed. To alleviate burdens on insufficient cellular resources and improve spectral efficiency in densely deployed networks, multiple storage devices can simultaneously use the same uplink cellular subchannel under the non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) protocol. Our objective is to minimize the total transmission power for content reconstruction, while guaranteeing the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) constraints for cellular users by jointly optimizing power and subchannel allocation. To tackle the non-convex combinational program, we decouple the original problem into two subproblems and propose two low-complexity algorithms to efficiently solve them, followed by a joint optimization, implemented by alternately updating the solutions to each subproblem. The numerical results illustrate that our proposed algorithms are capable of performing an exhaustive search with lower computation complexity, and the NOMA-enhanced scheme provides more transmission opportunities for neighbor storage devices, thus significantly reducing the total power consumption

    A Bibliometric Analysis on Pulsed Electrolysis: Electronic Effect, Double Layer Effect, and Mass Transport

    Pulsed electrolysis endowed merits of high current density, low energy consumption, and simple operation; thus, a booming in their publication numbers has been witnessed in recent years. In this review, we aim to summarize the state-of-the-art pulsed current/potential strategy to enhance electrochemical reactions, such as oxygen reduction reactions (ORR), CO2 reduction (CO2RR), CO reduction (COR), etc. It begins with historic analysis of pulsed electrolysis via a bibliometric method, aiming at providing a progress over the course of around 40 years in a quantitative way. Then, the definition along with its influence of electronic effect, double layer effect and mass transport have been reviewed based on a mechanism point of view for the first time. To sum up the review, several current challenges and future prospects of pulsed electrolysis have provided for the future smart design of electrochemical process

    Critical review on the mechanisms of Fe2+ regeneration in the electro-Fenton process: Fundamentals and boosting strategies

    This review presents an exhaustive overview on the mechanisms of Fe3+ cathodic reduction within the context of the electro-Fenton (EF) process. Different strategies developed to improve the reduction rate are discussed, dividing them into two categories that regard the mechanistic feature that is promoted: electron transfer control and mass transport control. Boosting the Fe3+ conversion to Fe2+ via electron transfer control includes: (i) the formation of a series of active sites in both carbon- and metal-based materials and (ii) the use of other emerging strategies such as single-atom catalysis or confinement effects. Concerning the enhancement of Fe2+ regeneration by mass transport control, the main routes involve the application of magnetic fields, pulse electrolysis, interfacial Joule heating effects, and photoirradiation. Finally, challenges are singled out, and future prospects are described. This review aims to clarify the Fe3+/Fe2+ cycling process in the EF process, eventually providing essential ideas for smart design of highly effective systems for wastewater treatment and valorization at an industrial scale

    A deletion variant Arg616 of androgen receptor in a Chinese family with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome

    Background: Complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS, OMIM; 300068) is a disorder of sex development with X-linked recessive inheritance. Cases of CAIS usually present as female phenotype, with primary amenorrhea and/or inguinal hernia. Family aggregation is a rare scenario.Methods: This study is a retrospective analysis of CAIS cases in a three-generation pedigree. The patients’ genomes were determined by sequencing the androgen receptor (AR) gene. The clinical data of the patients, including manifestations, hormone levels, and AR variants, were analyzed.Results: Sixteen people in this family were involved. A deletion variant (c.1847_1849del; p. Arg616del) was identified in exon 3 of AR, which encodes the DNA binding domain. Until now, four patients and four carriers have been identified in three generations of this family. All the patients live as female, and one has developed gonadal malignancy.Conclusion: The present study identified a deletion variant in three generations of a family with CAIS, including four carriers and four patients. This study verified the genetic pattern and the corresponding clinical characteristics of CAIS. Furthermore, a case with gonadal malignancy was discovered. The information on diagnosis and treatment in this pedigree is useful for prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling of similar families
