MAGNETIC STUDIES OF Pr1Ba2Cu3O7-δ AND La1Ba2Cu3O7-δ
We report magnetic susceptibility (xspin(T)), and magnetic scattering (neutron) studies for the superconducting complex La1Ba2Cu3O7 and the insulating complex Pr1Ba2Cu3O7-δ. The magnetic susceptibility and scattering measurements on the compound Pr1Ba2Cu3O7-δ show no sign of magnetic ordering. For the La1Ba2Cu3O7-δ samples we observe only a small change in the Pauli susceptibility and a decrease in the Curie-constant as Tc of the samples is increased
Orientation Dependence of Photochemical Reactions on TiO 2 Surfaces
The photochemistry of oriented rutile surfaces has been examined using the photoreduction of Ag + to Ag metal from an aqueous solution onto the TiO 2 surfaces. The photochemical reaction rates and quantum yields of rutile films were found to be a function of the orientation of the rutile surface. Th
MAGNETIC FIELD DEPENDENCE OF HIGH Tc SEMICONDUCTING CERAMICS
We report the magnetization M as a function of magnetic field H and temperature T for both semiconducting La2-xSrxCuO4-y and Y1Ba2Cu3O6+x. An anomalous magnetic field dependence has been observed for each of these samples. Below TN, the application of high field at small x (< 0.02) for La2-xSrxCuO4-y and for Y1Ba2Cu3O6+x at x = 0, there is an anomalous behavior for M (H), suggestive of a presence of a ferromagnetic component. For Y1Ba2Cu3O6+x samples of x = 0.25 and 0.34, there is a sublinear behavior of M on H. Possible odels are discussed for these novel phenomena
