Decay Estimates for Isentropic Compressible Navier-Stokes Equations in Bounded Domain

In this paper, under the hypothesis that ρ\rho is upper bounded, we construct a Lyapunov functional for the multidimensional isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations and show that the weak solutions decay exponentially to the equilibrium state in L2L^2 norm. This can be regarded as a generalization of Matsumura and Nishida's results in 1982, since our analysis is done in the framework of Lions 1998 and Feireisl et al. 2001, the higher regularity of (ρ,u)(\rho, u) and the uniformly positive lower bound of ρ\rho are not necessary in our analysis and vacuum may be admitted. Indeed, the upper bound of the density ρ\rho plays the essential role in our proof.Comment: 9 page

What is the job satisfaction and active participationof medical staff in public hospital reform: a studyin Hubei province of China

Background: In China, public hospital reform has been underway for almost 5 years, and 311 pilot county hospitals are the current focus. This study aimed to assess the job satisfaction and active participation of medical staff in the reform. A total of 2268 medical staff members in pilot and non-pilot county hospitals in Hubei, China, were surveyed. Methods: Questionnaires were used to collect data. The Pearson chi-square statistical method was used to assess the differences between pilot and non-pilot county hospitals and identify the factors related to job satisfaction as well as the understanding and perception of the reform. Binary logistic regression was performed to determine the significant factors that influence the job satisfaction of medical staff in pilot county hospitals. Results: Medical staff members in pilot county hospitals expressed higher satisfaction on current working situation, performance appraisal system, concern showed by leaders, hospital management, and compensation packages (P < 0.05). They were exposed to work-related stress at a higher extent (P < 0.05) and half of them worked overtime. Within pilot county hospitals, less than half of the medical staff members were satisfied with current job and they have evidently less satisfaction on compensation packages and learning and training opportunities. The working hours and work stress were negatively related to the job satisfaction (P < 0.05). Satisfaction on the performance appraisal system, hospital management, compensation packages, and learning and training opportunities were positively related to job satisfaction (P < 0.05). Medical staff in pilot county hospitals exhibited better understanding of and more positive attitude towards the reform (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Pilot county hospitals have implemented some measures through the reform, but there still are deficiencies. The government officials and hospital administrators should pay attention to influencing factors of job satisfaction and focus on the reasonable demands of medical staff. In addition, the medical staff in pilot county hospitals exhibited a better understanding of the public hospital reform programme and showed more firm confidence, but there still were some medical staff members who hold negative attitude. The publicity and education of the public hospital reform still need improvement. Keywords: Medical staff, China, Public hospital reform, Working situation, Satisfaction, Understanding, Perceptio

5P4F-Based Innovation Method of E-Commerce Business Models

    Get PDF
The development of Internet provides greater space and flexibility for business model innovations, while continuous innovations innately characterize the e-commerce models. The innovation activities have been greatly enhanced since the US Patent and Trademark Office issued a patent for the one-click shopping process invented by Amazon. This paper presents an analysis method, as well as the innovation method, of e-commerce business models, both based on 5P4F(5P---product, price, place, promotion, position; 4F---business flow, information flow, capital flow, logistics flow). The paper provides two ways to innovate EC business models : innovation of element property and innovation through model-composition. With these methods, practitioners can operate a detailed analysis of the present models and models of their enterprises to search for existing problems and consummate the present models with focus. As to the academic circle, it provides a general and referential frame, idea and method for the research on EC business model innovation

Pre-merger electromagnetic counterparts of binary compact stars

We investigate emission signatures of binary compact star gravitational wave sources consisting of strongly magnetized neutron stars (NSs) and/or white dwarfs (WDs) in their late-time inspiral phase. Because of electromagnetic interactions between the magnetospheres of the two compact stars, a substantial amount of energy will be extracted, and the resultant power is expected to be 10381044\sim 10^{38} - 10^{44} erg/s in the last few seconds before the two stars merge, when the binary system contains a NS with a surface magnetic field 101210^{12} G. The induced electric field in the process can accelerate charged particles up to the EeV energy range. Synchrotron radiation is emitted from energetic electrons, with radiative energies reaching the GeV energy for binary NSs and the MeV energy for NS - WD or double WD binaries. In addition, a blackbody component is also presented and it peaks at several to hundreds keV for binary NSs and at several keV for NS - WD or double WD binaries. The strong angular dependence of the synchrotron radiation and the isotropic nature of the blackbody radiation lead to distinguishable modulation patterns between the two emission components. If coherent curvature radiation is presented, fast radio bursts could be produced. These components provide unique simultaneous electromagnetic signatures as precursors of gravitational wave events associated with magnetized compact star mergers and short gamma ray bursts (e.g., GRB 100717).Comment: 16 pages, 8 figures, 1 table. Consider the set of equations describing Oldroyd-B fluids in an exterior domain. It is shown that this set of equations admits a unique, global solution in a certain function space provided the initial data, but not necessarily the coupling constant, is small enough
