    Living with stable angina: patients' pathway and needs in angina.

    AIMS: There is evidence that stable angina patients may suffer from emotional disorders that further impair their quality of life. However, the emotional experience of living with stable angina from the patient's perspective still has to be explored. Thus, the main aim of this study was to explore patients' emotional experience of having stable angina and their reported needs during the pathway from the first symptoms, through the process of diagnosis, to management and related lifestyle changes. METHODS: A survey was conducted in 75 chronic ischemic heart disease patients with angina (Brazil, China, Romania, Russia, and Turkey) using a 75-min, face-to-face in-depth interview. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Patients' responses highlighted the need to increase individuals' awareness on the first signs and symptoms of the disease. The survey also showed that chronic stable angina patients need constant emotional support to overcome stress, anxiety, and depression. Finally, this study suggests the need to offer greater space for dialogue with healthcare professionals to get more comprehensive and 'patient-friendly' information

    We set up a Chern-Simons theory for the entanglement of two polymers P_1 and P_2, and calculate the second topological moment , where m is the linking number.     Phase Diagram of Planar Matrix Quantum Mechanics, Tensor, and Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev Models

    We compute the phase diagram of a U(N)2×O(D)\text{U}(N)^{2}\times\text{O}(D) invariant fermionic planar matrix quantum mechanics [equivalently tensor or complex Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev (SYK) models] in the new large DD limit, dominated by melonic graphs. The Schwinger-Dyson equations can have two solutions describing either a high entropy, SYK black-hole-like phase, or a low entropy one with trivial IR behavior. In the strongly coupled region of the mass-temperature plane, there is a line of first order phase transitions between the high and low entropy phases. This line terminates at a new critical point which we study numerically in detail. The critical exponents are nonmean field and differ on the two sides of the transition. We also study purely bosonic unstable and stable melonic models. The former has a line of Kazakov critical points beyond which the Schwinger-Dyson equations do not have a consistent solution. Moreover, in both models the would-be SYK-like solution of the IR limit of the equations does not exist in the full theory.Comment: 14 pages, 5 figures, minor changes in v

    Geometry of contours and Peierls estimates in d=1 Ising models

    Following Fr\"ohlich and Spencer, we study one dimensional Ising spin systems with ferromagnetic, long range interactions which decay as ∣x−y∣−2+α|x-y|^{-2+\alpha}, 0≤α≤1/20\leq \alpha\leq 1/2. We introduce a geometric description of the spin configurations in terms of triangles which play the role of contours and for which we establish Peierls bounds. This in particular yields a direct proof of the well known result by Dyson about phase transitions at low temperatures.Comment: 28 pages, 3 figure

    MODELLING THE PERFORMANCES OF TRADITIONAL AND INNOVATIVE FATS IN A PLUM CAKE FORMULATION

    Finding alternatives to animal and saturated fats is an attractive challenge in bakery. In a first part of the research, effects of fat melting characteristics and fat quantity in a plum cake formulation were studied by a Central Composite Design (CCD), using palm oil/palm olein blends as fat. Cakes produced with butter (BC) or anhydrous butter (ABC) were taken as the references. Response surface models demonstrated that cake texture was significantly affected (p0.05) on the final cake, although the reference cake, produced with liquid sunflower oil, showed higher consistency (p>0.05). During storage trials, OG cakes showed slight different behaviour but further study on OG structuring in cake is needed
