We introduce and describe the proposed configuration for the reformulation of the pedagogi-cal project of the Library and Information Science course of the Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Brazil. The social, academic, economic and professional context of the contemporary required reconfiguration of the profile curriculum. The methodological procedures adopted for developing the process of curricular reform based on discussions realized in conjunction with teachers, students and staff technical about issues related to Librarianship and to Information Science, and, specifically, to emphases will be offered by the course, and these issues that transcend the simple curriculum rearrangement. The systematic and planning of the discus-sions resulted in the structure of curriculum matrix that is intended to come in 2012
