This document is the Accepted Manuscript version of a Published Work that appeared in final form in ACS Catalysis, copyright © American Chemical Society after peer review and technical editing by the publisherIn this perspective, we highlight the main opportunities of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) as heterogeneous catalysts. Along with our personal view on the most promising catalytic applications, the most important issues that still need to be addressed before commercial implementation of MOF catalysis are discussed.AC and FXLiX acknowledge support by Consolider-Ingenio 2010 (project MULTICAT), Severo Ochoa program, and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (project MAT2011-29020-C02-01).Gascon, J.; Corma Canós, A.; Kapteijn, F.; Llabrés I Xamena, FX.
