Petersson proved a beautiful limit formula for the ratio of $p_+(n)$ to $p_-(n)$ as $n\to\infty$ expressed in terms of important invariants of the real quadratic field $\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{p})$. But his proof is not illuminating and Grosswald conjectured a more natural proof using a Tauberian converse of the Stolz-Ces\`aro theorem. In this paper we suggest an approach to address Grosswald's conjecture. Mediacion intercultural en sociedades multiculturales : hacia una nueva conceptualización

La mediación intercultural se ha definido en los últimos años en España a partir de una práctica especializada de atención e intervención con población inmigrante extranjera en las sociedades occidentales, lo que ha dado origen a la conocida "nueva" necesidad de mediadores interculturales en estos contextos sociales. En este texto queremos dar un paso atrás analizando algunas definiciones del término mediación, para a partir de ahí reconceptualizar la práctica de la mediación intercultural no como una herramienta únicamente necesaria ante la presencia de inmigrantes extranjeros en la sociedad española, sino como el instrumento que permite la convivencia de múltiples culturas en el ámbito social. Para esto desvinculamos la mediación de la inmigración, abriéndola al campo de la diversidad cultural y permitiendo por tanto una mejor comprensión de los procesos de construcción social que están teniendo lugar en nuestros tiempos en todo el planeta.During the last decade, in Spain there has been a specialized practice and intervention with foreign immigrant population that has fostered the definition of intercultural mediation as a “new” necessity in occidental societies. In this text we want to go one step backward analyzing some of the definitions of mediation to be able to reconceptualize the practice of intercultural mediation not only as a necessary tool to face the increasing presence of foreign immigrants in Spanish society, but as the instrument that allows the cohabitation of multiple cultures in the social arena. De la presencia de población inmigrante extranjera en la escuela al diseño de políticas educativas de igualdad, el caso de Andalucía

Se presentan los datos de la evolución reciente de la población escolar inmigrante extranjera en un contexto geográfico determinado: Andalucía. Expondremos una serie de estadísticas que nos permitan "calcular" el fenómeno y desde ellas realizar los primeros análisis. Ante la necesidad de desarrollar políticas educativas de atención a la población extranjera en la escuela motivadas por "su diferencia", defendemos la necesidad de conocer con detalle las dinámicas de asentamiento de estas nuevas poblaciones y, a partir de ello y con un conocimiento más detallado de "la vida en las aulas" de esta nueva diversidad, diseñar tales políticas de actuación. Resulta muy difícil diseñar cualquier política educativa para atender a cualquier colectivo social o cultural diversos sin contar con datos más o menos precisos de cómo esta evolucionando el fenómeno al que tal política irá dirigida. Desde los datos y con una posición ideológica defensora de la igualdad, es desde donde tendremos que construir tales políticas educativas.Data about the recent evolution of the foreign immigrant school population in a certain geographic context; Andalusia are presented. We will show a series of statistics which will enable us to «calculate» the event and later we will make the first analysis. Knowing the necessity of developing educational policies to attend the foreign population regarding the fact of their «difference», we defend the necessity of detailing the setting dynamics of these new populations and designing such educational policies with a more detailed knowledge of the daily life at school. From our view it is very hard the design of any educational policy with the purpose of taking care of any social or cultural group without handling more or less accurate data about the evolution of the event for which the policy has been designed. From the data and an ideological position defending equality we will have to elaborate such educational policies

¿Qué es una carretera inteligente?

A smart road is the planning of avenues or roads that become advanced intelligent platforms, which allow detailed infrastructure to embody or develop their functions (such as traffic signals and tolls). It allows vehicles to communicate and share an essential information base with deterministic characteristics between a system for receiving and exporting information. In this way, a driver can know in advance if a traffic accident has occurred or if weather conditions are making it difficult for vehicles to pass. This article documents several characteristic aspects of the functioning of each of the parts that make up the intelligent highway.Una carretera inteligente consiste en la planeación de avenidas o caminos que se conviertan en avanzadas plataformas inteligentes, que permiten que la detallada infraestructura plasme o desarrolle sus funciones (como señales de tránsito y peajes). Permite que los vehículos se comuniquen y compartan una base información esencial con características determinantes a los factores, entre un sistema de recepción y exportación de información. De esta manera, un conductor puede conocer con anticipación si se registró un accidente de tránsito o si las condiciones climáticas están dificultando el paso de vehículos. Sujetos y territorios en el estudio de las migraciones desde la antropología en España

El texto hace una aproximación a la incorporación de las migraciones como temática de estudio en la Antropología en España y en qué medida la Antropología Social realizada encuentra en el inmigrante la otredad; una forma de antropologizar su estudio sin salir de casa. Se hace una breve descripción de cómo se está construyendo el campo de estudio de las migraciones a partir de la observación de las tesis doctorales que se han leído en los departamentos de Antropología Social de las universidades del Estado español en los últimos años, qué temáticas han tratado y proponiendo una agrupación organizativa del conjunto de estas investigaciones. A partir de ello analiza cómo son representados los sujetos de dichas investigaciones en los objetivos que se marcan en cada una de las tesis doctorales analizadas y los énfasis que ponen en los lugares geográficos en los que se han desarrollado las investigaciones. A brief description of how anthropological research in Spain constructs migration as a field of study through an overview of doctoral theses defended in the social anthropology departments of Spanish universities in recent years shows the topics studied, grouping them thematically. They are then analyzed according to how the subjects of these studies are represented (and sometimes turned into objects of study) in the stated aims of the theses analyzed, and the emphasis placed on the geographic locations in which the studies were carried out. Prismas trasescalares en el estudio de las migraciones

This article aims to reflect on the way social anthropology can contribute to the study of migrations and, simultaneously, to “find out” what the discipline can also learn from this field of study, and thus to transfer its knowledge to other areas. From here we will learn how important here and there are for the study of migrations, not as situations or places, but as constructed and reconstructed notions of identification processes. From that point, we will try to show some examples of our ethnographic research that lead to the analysis of the concept of situation from its relational dimension. A notion of context that shouldn’t be seen in relation to space, but in the provision of meanings for the social and cultural events within it. Therefore a trans-scalar approach of anthropology will arise in a global context and referring to any sociocultural pnenomenon. Such an approach wil lead to the enforcement of a multisited ethnography.El presente artículo pretende reflexionar sobre lo que la antropología social puede aportar al estudio de las migraciones y, a la vez, “descubrir” lo que puede aprender también la disciplina de este campo de estudio, y, de esta manera transdisciplinar, sus saberes. De aquí aprenderemos lo importante que es para el estudio de las migraciones el aquí y allí no como situaciones o lugares, sino como nociones que construyen y reconstruyen los procesos de identificación. Desde ellos trataremos de mostrar varios ejemplos de nuestras investigaciones etnográficas, que nos pongan en la situación de analizar el concepto de contexto desde sus dimensiones relacionales. Es una noción de contexto que no debe dimensionarse en lo espacial, sino en la dotación de significados de los acontecimientos sociales y culturales que deben ser inscritos en él. De todo ello surgirá el enfoque transescalar, que en un contexto global debe tomar la antropología en el estudio de cualquier fenómeno sociocultural, lo que le obligará a intensificar una etnografía multisituada

Comprender y construir la mediación intercultural = Understanding and developing the intercultural mediation

Ante la relativamente nueva introducción de la denominada mediación intercultural en el escenario del trabajo con la inmigración extranjera en España, se han multiplicado los debates y posiciones sobre la figura profesional que ha de ejercer tal actividad de mediación intercultural. Para contribuir a dichos debates aportamos el resumen de los resultados de un estudio que pretende delimitar el perfil del llamado "mediador o mediadora intercultural". El estudio ha consistido básicamente en hacer un recorrido por tres fuentes de información fundamentales: la formación que se ha proporcionado a mediadores y mediadoras interculturales en diferentes contextos europeos, las características y competencias que se les han atribuido y, por último, las funciones que se dice debe cumplir la mediación. Estos tres ámbitos de información deben dar respuesta adecuada al perfil del mediador o mediadora intercultural, destacando en especial su delimitación profesional, las proximidades y relaciones con otras profesiones y, en especial, el tipo de formación necesario para la capacitación profesional.In the face of the relatively new introduction of the named intercultural mediation in the context of work with foreign immigration in Spain, debates and positions on the professional figure that intercultural mediation has to be wielded have multiplied. In order to contribute to such debates, we provide the summary of the results of a study that aims to delimit the profile of the so called ‘’intercultural mediator’’. The study basically consisted of taking a tour for three fundamental sources of information: The training provided to intercultural mediators in different European contexts, the characteristics and competences attributed to them, and lastly, the functions that are said to be fulfilled by the mediator. These three aspects of information must give an adequate answer to the ’intercultural mediator’ profile, highlighting his professional delimitations, the proximities and relations with other professions, and especially, the type of training required for the vocational training
