Uniqueness of Nash equilibria in quantum Cournot duopoly game
A quantum Cournot game of which classical form game has multiple Nash
equilibria is examined. Although the classical equilibria fail to be Pareto
optimal, the quantum equilibrium exhibits the following two properties, (i) if
the measurement of entanglement between strategic variables chosen by the
competing firms is sufficiently large, the multiplicity of equilibria vanishes,
and, (ii) the more strongly the strategic variables are entangled, the more
closely the unique equilibrium approaches to the optimal one.Comment: 7 pages, 2 figure
Magnetodielectric effect of Bi6Fe2Ti3O18 film under an ultra-low magnetic field
Good quality and fine grain Bi6Fe2Ti3O18 magnetic ferroelectric films with
single-phase layered perovskite structure have been successfully prepared via
metal organic decomposition (MOD) method. Results of low-temperature
magnetocapacitance measurements reveal that an ultra-low magnetic field of 10
Oe can produce a nontrivial magnetodielectric (MD) response in
zero-field-cooling condition, and the relative variation of dielectric
constants in magnetic field is positive, i.e., MD=0.05, when T<55K, but
negative with a maximum of MD=-0.14 when 55K<T<190K. The magnetodielectric
effect appears a sign change at 55K, which is due to transition from
antiferromagnetic to weak ferromagnetic; and vanishes abruptly around 190K,
which is thought to be associated with order-disorder transition of iron ion at
B site of perovskite structures. The ultra-low-field magnetodielectric
behaviour of Bi6Fe2Ti3O18 film has been discussed in the light of
quasi-two-dimension unique nature of local spin order in ferroelectric film.
Our results allow expectation on low-cost applications of detectors and
switches for extremely weak magnetic fields in a wide temperature range
55K-190K.Comment: 10 pages 4 figures, planned to submit to J. Phys.: Condensed Matte
Advances in the functional study of glutamine synthetase in plant abiotic stress tolerance response
Plant glutamine synthetase (GS, EC6.3.1.2) catalyzes the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonium ions and acts as a key enzyme in the nitrogen metabolic pathway in organisms. Nitrogen is an essential element for plant growth and development and plays an important role in crop yield and quality formation. Therefore, GS is crucial in many physiological processes in plants. Currently, nitrogen regulation by GS in plants is well-studied in terms of its effect on plant growth and development. This article reviews the regulatory role of plant GS and its molecular mechanism in mitigating stress injury, such as low or high temperature, salinity, drought and oxidation. The function of plant GS in stress tolerance response is focused. The review aims to provide a reference for the utilization of plant GS in crop stress tolerance breeding
CFO estimation in OFDM systems under timing and channel length uncertainties with model averaging
In this letter, we investigate the problem of CFO estimation in OFDM systems when the timing offset and channel length are not exactly known. Instead of explicitly estimating the timing offset and channel length, we employ a multi-model approach, where the timing offset and channel length can take multiple values with certain probabilities. The effect of multimodel is directly incorporated into the CFO estimator. Results show that the proposed estimator outperforms the estimator selecting only the most probable model and the method taking the maximal model. © 2006 IEEE.published_or_final_versio
