The Inclusion of False, Falsified, and Falsifiable Data that Favor an Evolutionary Worldview in the High School Science Curriculum of Public and Private Schools in the Philippines

This paper examines a curricular issue in general within public and private high schools in the Philippines. This paper presents six known and documented errant points found in textbooks that promote an evolutionary worldview and are commonly found in local high school biology textbooks. The proposed solutions present several questions designed to facilitate formation of the readers’ own views regarding this phenomenon

“They Don’t Teach This in High School”: An Examination of the Portrayal of Teenage Pregnancy in the MTV Television Show 16 and Pregnant

This paper examines the depiction of teenage pregnancy on the MTV show 16 and Pregnant- a documentary style reality show. Using a qualitative textual analysis the author examines how he teen girls describe themselves, whether contraception was discussed and if it was how so, what options the teens discussed in regards to the pregnancy, the role of the father of the child, the role of the mother and finally the role of the teens\u27 families. The author concludes that while 16 and Pregnant is a step forward in realistic portrayals of the consequences of sex targeted at teens, the show could be doing much more in terms of providing valuable sexual health information to teens

Sets and C^n; Quivers and A-D-E; Triality; Generalized Supersymmetry; and D4-D5-E6

The relation between Geisteswissenschaft and Naturwissenschaft has been discussed by Munster in hep-th/9305104. The plan of this paper is to begin with the empty set; use it to form sets and quivers (sets of points plus sets of arrows between pairs of points); and then use them to make complex vector spaces and to get the A-D-E Coxeter-Dynkin diagrams. The Dn Spin(2n) Lie algebras have spinor representations to describe fermions. D4 Spin(8) triality gives automorphisms among its vector and two half-spinor representations. D5 Spin(10) contains both Spin(8) and the complexification of the vector representation of Spin(8). E6 contains both Spin(10) and the two half-spinor representations of Spin(10), and therefore contains the adjoint representation of Spin(8) and the complexifications of the vector and the two half-spinor representations of Spin(8).
